Leeds have a very big fanbase they get everywhere, you find them popping up on every clubs message board, dont believe me, just take a look at other clubs forums, whatever the level, cant get away from them, they're extremely annoying, like a virus.A few Leeds supporters are getting very excited but they are on a Sunderland message board trying to claim some superiority over Sunderland..It's strange as teams like Brentford, Brighton, Nottingham Forest don't feel the same need. They definitely have an inferiority complex. @Pingu @Real class of 92 and the rest should be on the Burnley board or some of their other PL rivals.
Until Elland Road is expanded, but even then Sunderland will have a higher % of the city turning up to games compared to Leeds, in that regards Sunderland probably beats every big club in England.Leeds have a bigger fanbase than Sunderland, bigger catchment area by far , more fans scattered over the country from their 70s heyday but Sunderland have more impressive crowds
I don't care about history. Mine is a comment about a Leeds supporter trying to mock a Spurs supporter. I admire supporters of supporters of clubs who have never won a trophy not prats who suddenly jump on another club's message board in a pathetic attempt to big themselves up. Many of us remember Sunderland beating Leeds in an FA Cup final but si what. This peurile debate about which clubs are big clubs is pathetic. My argument is simple - all clubs are big clubs to their supporters but some clubs have bigger prats supporting them. At the moment we have a lot of Reserve Squad (prats) members trying to big up Leeds. Why?So you agree having your club winning things in living memory is important and to you at least its one of the things that makes a big club?
Now.. lets see when Sunderland last won the league, 1936... oh dear doubt there is a single person alive that remembers that.
It was only invitational in its first few years in the early 1950s, by the time the likes of Leeds and Arsenal were winning it, it was no different to the Uefa cup Spurs won a year later in 1972. You qualified due to league position only.
You been in a hell of a lot less European semi finals compared to Leeds, but you are right, you get nothing for finishing 3rd/4th or even 2nd which Leeds have done a lot throughout its history, but it does show you historically who were the good teams
Out of date that list @EssexYidLogon or register to see this imageTottenham’s stadium only held just over 36k and Spurs report the actual attendances and not tickets sold like most clubs do, Spurs were 2nd in the all time average attendance table at one point but Arsenal's and Liverpools bigger stadiums meant that they have crept ahead of Spurs now.
For those claiming that Spurs entering the League pyramid later has helped their average attendances it works both ways Spurs had a small stadium for 15/20 years that stunted their potential attendances greatly over that time.
Leeds United have won 1 European trophy the Inter Cities fairs Cup was an invitation only trophy and as such it has been deleted from UEFAs records so it simply doesn't count, near misses don't count either, Spurs have lost plenty of European semi finals and finals.

Leeds finished 2nd in 1970, Arsenal won the league and so went into the European Cup, which club missed out?Not much different apart from loads of teams finishing above Leeds United not being able to enter due to a one club per city rule, 3 London clubs were barred in one season alone, The Fairs Cup has been deleted from UEFAs records end of story why don't you back up your drivel with actual facts then, you trying to compare Leeds United to Spurs is like me trying to compare Spurs to Manchester United or Liverpool or Arsenal for that matter.

Anyway as previously mentioned I'm not a Leeds fan.
Burnley are the best supported per population I believeUntil Elland Road is expanded, but even then Sunderland will have a higher % of the city turning up to games compared to Leeds, in that regards Sunderland probably beats every big club in England.

There are many reasons that Spurs are valued at nearly 4bn with top 10 revenues in world football and top 10 in world for valuation, Leeds united are worth closer to £4 than £4bn.
I know it is out of date, I was just pointing out how Arsenal and Liverpool had overtaken Spurs all time average attendance due to their bigger stadiums at that period of time.Out of date that list @EssexYid
Here’s the new one where West Ham have knocked SAFC out of the top 10. The table is skewed as pre 1921 gates were a lot lower , so the great teams like Everton , Villa and Sunderland suffer from the days of 4-5000 crowds in the 1890s and 1900s
9 for LeedsTottenham Hotspur 9 Semi Finals Leeds United 5 Semi Finals.
Who do you support?
The leeds averages are inflated as they were formed in 1919 and have 27 years of games less than Sunderland !..you can see this clearly as we have had 10million more people through the gates than LeedsTottenham’s stadium only held just over 36k and Spurs report the actual attendances and not tickets sold like most clubs do, Spurs were 2nd in the all time average attendance table at one point but Arsenal's and Liverpools bigger stadiums meant that they have crept ahead of Spurs now.
