Definitely makes a difference. We usually stay and clap everyone and it has been taking just over and hour to get home. Left on the whistle last night and was back in half an hour.Maybe that's what I get for staying to clap until the last player left the pitch. An extra 2 or 3 minutes can cost you 30 in traffick
Where do you park like mate?Do you walk there and back?
I live nearly 30 miles south of the stadium. I left on FT, dropped a passenger in Peterlee and was home at 11pm.
I park Panns Bank then take the back road past the Regale Tavern and round to Raich Carter roundabout, I was in Peterlee for about 10:50pm after staying til the end. Apologies as I don't know if you have any mobility or health issues, but it's worth parking a bit further away and just walking it in and back afterwards if you can.Where do you park like mate?
We park Dundas Street and I didn't get back to Peterlee till 1130, we left bang on final whistle. Can be busy at times but never seen anything like that last night.
Seemed to be an issue getting out onto the bridge road next to he dead club, we literally moved 50m in about half an hour up Dundas St next to the bus depot.
If you don't have mobility issues , parking south of the wearmouth bridge is so much easier for the A19 south and a690.Where do you park like mate?

Think how bad it will be when the stadium is extended.Last night, I live three miles from the Stadium and arrived home at 11.15.. The last home night match it was 11.45.
Do I like it?, No. Will I put up with it?, Yes.
I'm canny fat like but I can still get a power walk on.If you don't have mobility issues , parking south of the wearmouth bridge is so much easier for the A19 south and a690.
We park university of Sunderland campus
There are many worse things that don't earn the insult disgusting. I don't like it but it doesn't disgust me.Absolutely disgusting tonight, lads played amazingly well and ground is half empty at the 85th minute. Utterly pathetic.
Of course it isn’t being taken for granted man. They’re paying their money and making a racket at the games.Stopped till the end. Clapped the payers off for couple of minutes. Walked to parking at Tatham Street Hendon via a burger van for the chips for the bairn and still home in seaham for 10.50. Each to there own but it looks shite, particularly on the great run were on at home that a mass exodus is starting on 80 minutes with huge swathes already gone by full time. We'll look back on this run in years to come as a golden period in our recent history and its definitely getting took for granted now by a chunk of our support
Aye , grown adults saying they left a match early because they have work the next morning is an embrassing excuseExcuse?
I’ve no idea what people are doing me. I stayed till there was only a couple of players left walking back to the pitch. Walked back to the car, stoped off in the Chinese and got curry and chips to take home, pulled up at my front door in South Shields at 10.52. Monday night football still hadn’t finished by the time I put my food out and turned the telly onHows that? I live 15 miles away in Whickham. Didnt leave early and was home at 10.45.
How is it embarrassing? To whom? I’m not embarrassed by it and I presume they aren’t.Aye , grown adults saying they left a match early because they have work the next morning is an embrassing excuse

3pms are the worst, blokes leaving 10 mins early to get back to watch strictly or X factor I mean ffs would you dare man. Proper hen pecked.
Probably watch I’m a celeb for the bikinis tooUnder the thumb / hen pecked blokes, should take their time and take advantage of the class watering holes Sunlun has to offer instead of rushing home!
How is it embarrassing? To whom? I’m not embarrassed by it and I presume they aren’t.
I find grown adults being bothered about what other people choose to do embarrassing. Everyone is different and I’m only bothered about what happens on the grass, personally.
The creator of this thread NEVER goes to games. He knows exactly what he’s doing with this.
Are you embarrassed by it? I’m not and no-one I know has mentioned being so.It is canny embarrassing to our support (as a whole) the club and these lads are putting so much effort in.
Looking at one of the best season (post WW2 barring Reidy’s side) I think it’s fair to call out the thousands leaving early to take the effort to show their appreciation and support to this group of talented young players.
There will be genuine reasons, but not everyone leaving early must be in the house for 15/30 mins early… surely it can’t make that much difference in the grand scheme of things getting back in the house Vs cheering the lads off?
I walked round to the SEC on 90 mins.Absolutely disgusting tonight, lads played amazingly well and ground is half empty at the 85th minute. Utterly pathetic.

Not a great look for the club to whom though? It happens everywhere, it only appears worse due to the numerous threads created on here, mostly by people who never go near the place. It’s not a great look for the club with the season we’re having.
I do find it disrespectful, disappointing for this group of players with thousands of empty seats at the end and not as many people as possible left to show their appreciation.
That’s just my view, I was always brought up to stay and show my appreciation (maybe I’m just old fashioned? and football supporters have changed??)

It’s the same at every ground. The difference is, for example, the Mags would never be seen to publicly criticise themselves.
So, whose view are you arsed about it being “not a great look” about?I’m not arsed about other clubs or where else it happens.
We rightly praise our support when it’s fair to do so. We’ve an opportunity to be different, and it’s the least these players deserve for their efforts.
I always had it instilled in me to stay to the end, I remember the “I’m staying to the end chants” in the early days of the SoL.
Like I say, maybe it’s a modern thing of wanting to get home 15/30 mins early to watch whatever shite is on TV, but for the sake of staying and showing appreciation to the lads I’d rather get back a bit later/ or be a little more tired for work the day after a match.
So, whose view are you arsed about it being “not a great look” about?
Just to confirm, I’ve never been an early leaver by the way. I’ve just never been remotely bothered whether others do or not.
