If he takes his second chance like some of our other first teamers, it will be a real boost for the club. Good luck to the lad.

We generally agreed that following Rushy and Bazza's injuries, a loan signing was vital. This lad seems way off the mark though in terms of quality. Good on Lewis for acting quickly but there must be someone better we can get.

Well, we've never had a specialist spinner who has been anywhere near international standard so no change there!

They don't have to be international standard just good enough to be on a full contract. It can't be very often that a county staff does not have a specialist slow bowler on a full contract for a season.
Pleased for Davies he has certainly made an impression since he arrived and has taken his chance.

Made an impression? Has he been playing seconds?

I wonder if Richardson has given up the gloves to concentrate on his batting, if he hasn't then 3 keepers in a very small squad and no specialist slow bowler on a full contract appears a bit unbalanced.

Thing is though, in modern cricket, wicketkeepers are all just batsmen anyway. So in effect you could have 7 keepers, it makes little difference IMO.
