Carse following suite -over just gone for 16
Very worrying form from him this season. Just looked at cricinfo and it looks like he has 1 wicket from 3 (including today) first class games and 5 T20s this season. And he doesn't seem to be bowling tightly either, have England ruined him?

His batting is getting better and bowling rapidly worse

I think you only need spin bowling if your seam is serving up pies. It's nice to have it regardless. Particularly if Duckett still looks as dodgy against spin as he did when he played for England.

Been injured for neigh on 3 years mate. Unreal talent but will need cricket under his belt

Unreal talent is a massive exaggeration. He has a modest record, even when you take into consideration the time off injured, which should have been a red light not to go back there.

unreal not actual; imaginary, fanciful, delusory; lacking in truth; not genuine
Like I said needs time. Most unlucky lad with injuries. I think he would have played for England after his lions tour had he not ripped every tendon in his shoulder. Had no movement in bowling arm for months.

Duckett and Clarke are having a net here and they have gone off for bad light.
Another shrewd umpiring decision -the batsmen were clearly having difficulty sighting the ball.

He's been injury-free for 12 months. No improvement in his game for the last 5 years.

So since last September? Meaning all he’s had in the way of competitive cricket is 5 games in a cobbled together format during a bastardised season.

Once he’s had a full season (which includes a full pre-season) then we can make a realistic judgement on where he’s at.

Personally, I’m still really excited about our teams prospects for next season. Got a very strong and deep bowling attack in my honest opinion and I know for a fact the batting will look much better once Bancroft (or A.N. Other overseas) is added to it.

I felt that way at the end of last season but the recent performances have really deflated me. The bowling attack looks deep but in terms of performances there's only really Rushworth who's shown up so far.

I admire your optimism and obviously hope my pessimism is dispelled. I think Potts is a real prospect. Even when Coughlin was in his 1st spell here I thought he should focus solely on batting.

Before the first match against Yorkshire I thought we had a stronger seam attack than them but in all 5 matches I think we have been out bowled by the opposition.
The inadequacies of the batting gets a lot of attention but the bowling has been poor in this competition.
