I referred to wickets on Day 1 owing to a 10:30 start. Three teams batting first on Day 1 were rolled for under 100, one for 133.
Plenty of competitiveness at Edgbaston, both teams fighting for the Championship - 21 wickets fell on Day 1, 10 of them before Lunch.
Don’t be intentionally obtuse Gordon, you know full well how the red ball works and how likely it is that it’ll do a bit more between 10:30 and midday on Day 1 when it’s new as opposed to between the hours of 14:00 and 16:00 for example when it’s 40 odd overs or more old.
Glamorgan might’ve been in the wrong mindset, but momentum is a difficult thing to stop/turn round in cricket. They started alright, then a clatter of wickets began and before they knew it they were bowling. They had a fairly bad time of it in their last game too - which suggests to me it’s more likely they’re lacking confidence than effort or interest.
