Durham v Glamorgan (h) C.C.

I referred to wickets on Day 1 owing to a 10:30 start. Three teams batting first on Day 1 were rolled for under 100, one for 133.

Plenty of competitiveness at Edgbaston, both teams fighting for the Championship - 21 wickets fell on Day 1, 10 of them before Lunch.

Don’t be intentionally obtuse Gordon, you know full well how the red ball works and how likely it is that it’ll do a bit more between 10:30 and midday on Day 1 when it’s new as opposed to between the hours of 14:00 and 16:00 for example when it’s 40 odd overs or more old.

Glamorgan might’ve been in the wrong mindset, but momentum is a difficult thing to stop/turn round in cricket. They started alright, then a clatter of wickets began and before they knew it they were bowling. They had a fairly bad time of it in their last game too - which suggests to me it’s more likely they’re lacking confidence than effort or interest.
I'm not been obtuse, I just find myself disagreeing with you, which is entirely fine. I stand by what I've said.

In other news- nice gesture by the Durham players at the tea interval when they lined up at the foot of the pavilion steps and had a team photo with Jamie in the middle.

Lovely touch.👍

WINNERS!!!

By an innings and 42 runs.

Coggers gets his 5-fer thanks to a brilliant one-handed diving grab by Big Eck.

9-73 in the match! Who you going to slag off next week @GordonMuchallNo1Fan ?!
I hardly slagged him off dear me
Win is a win but it's all utterly irrelevant sadly. Hopefully a return to proper divisions next season as this farce cannot continue.

It’s pathetic, emails about early bird renewals and we don’t even know how many games or of what description we’re signing up for?
We have two years left on ours as ot's auto renew but speaking to regular members who renew on a yearly basis, none of them are committing to the early bird due to the farce of the red ball league structure. This season we were watching dead rubber cricket on the last day or so in July at home to Notts, then the division 2 stuff is all irrelevant and lacked competitiveness on Sunday and friends at game on Monday so it was pretty boring. It's little wonder folk aren't rushing to sign up for that, I can't blame them. Memberships will take a hit in my opinion if nothing changes. Folk don't stump up good money to watch dead rubber red ball cricket. had we been a yearly renewal we would be waiting to see what the schedule was.
