Durham’s T20 Campaign

My anger isn't at you bud, just... I've never forgiven Durham for the arse they made of the situation after losing our core to just let onions go like that was absolutely insulting to him and Durham fans

Didn't think for a moment that it was. Underwhelming list of names as pathway coaches. I fear that our excellent academy set up has slowly been dismantled. Why can't loyal servants like Bunny, Breese, Colonel, Muchall be given roles.They knew how our academy system worked.

It's not always the case that ex players make great coaches in fairness, or even want to be coaches. Which is why it's incredibly frustrating what happened with bunny.

We didn't want to give him a two year deal, we didn't trust his age and injury record, we didn't seemingly shoe interest in him coaching.

Then Rimmington comes along, an older and worse player who gets a two year deal, breaks down repeatedly and ends up a coach.

Couldn't mak it up

People also seem to think that playing a team full of bairns is somehow useful to their development, conventionally forgetting the most successful period of developing youngsters was probably when we were a very strong side and players had to work really hard to get into the side and surrounded by experienced, proud and winning professionals in the dressing room.

I think sometimes that some folk would just like to see a Durham team of all homegrown teenagers - there has to be a mix.

Makes perfect sense and of course kudos to the club if they can tweak his deal to allow him to start right away with the T20 stuff and then roll right into the red ball and the 50 over stuff.

Is anyone signing players for the 50 overs now it's a (not even) glamourised second xi tournament?
