Durham’s T20 Campaign

Be interesting to see the line ups for Wednesday when both 1sts and 2nds have fixtures. Don't think we have 22 fit players even with Academy contracts.
Won't they just co-opt a load of better players from the NEPL for the second XI's like they did last time.

So how is picking Ned and Drissell helping that? I dont get your point mate, genuinely

You clearly don’t get my point, because I never named names.

I merely stated that I could understand the desire from the club to bring in someone like Robinson given his track record and our injury problems.

A few people are already bemoaning the lack of power hitters, Robinson hasn’t done owt of note yet, granted, but he’s atleast done it before. Which is essentially all I was saying - at the very very least I understand their logic.

I’m not suggesting I agree with it, I’m certainly not saying they’ve been justified to this point, but the club clearly felt the need to strengthen the batting with talent and experience. I will always maintain that Durham have done more than enough in recent years by way of giving youth a chance. I fully expect this year will be no different and that ALL of the players being mentioned will have played some part of this campaign when it’s all over. I stated last week that I expect young Mitchell Killeen to make his debut and I predict that by game 10/11 we’ll have nothing to play for and the side will be almost unrecognisable to anyone unfamiliar with our Academy.

There’s a lot of pressure on all counties to make the Blast a success from a marketing point of view, if we’ve got 6/7 losses by the time the group enters its final stages there’ll be nobody at all paying at the turnstiles to come in and watch and that will be a very sad thing for everyone who cares about Durham CCC.
Sol Bell for one is worth another look at.Could well be similar players in the NYSD 🤔

There’s a cracking young left handed opening batsman at Esh Winning who is worth another look ;)

Good starting point for Durham cricketers going back to the days of Hurst and Williamson.Do you still have one of KT's jumpers 😉

Just received an email from the club regarding arrangements for the first home T20 game of the season and suprise surprise, despite all the seats being reinstalled, The Trapdoor Stand will not be open.

Either they're not expecting many or they can't afford to pay the stewards.🤔

Doing well according to Playcricket 519, runs, 3 tons, with average of 74 @ 122. Couldn't imagine anyone wanting him back at the club though.

Some Welsh lad at Eppleton called Kieran O'Connor also seems to be tearing up the league.
2nd division 2nd team, bit of a step up from there to the county game

I am going to the T20 game and as I have wangled a half day off, am a bit torn between the Women’s match and the 2s at Ropery Lane. Will decide on the morrow.
