Dogs of The SMB.

Yes I know the floor needs a quick hoover, but this is our first ever dog, Evie. A black lab who has had us ran ragged since we got her on Thursday. She's only 8 weeks old, doesn't listen to a word we say, chews anything and everything (even with loads of chew toys) but also is starting to get a hang on the training we are doing for her.

Already learning how to sit and stay a little bit and whining at the baby gate when she wants to go outside, albeit with a lot of accidents along the way.

A couple of issues include pooing in her crate through the night, even with us getting up and putting her outside (we know she has a little bladder and little bowels) and a little bit of blood in her poo. Done a bit of research and we think it's just down to us changing her food twice since she's came here after realising we shouldn't have put her on to Pedigree. We've put her on Wainwrights now and it's nowhere near as runny and we are hoping that it's just colitis from too many food changes at once. She's still very happy and playing a lot so we aren't too worried currently.

Won't get her first set of vaccinations until Friday, so currently confined to the house and yard so doing everything that we can to not have an unruly dog.

Quick question for my fellow dog lovers. With my Mams dogs being fully vaccinated for everything, would I be able to take the pup up to meet her dogs for the first time, or is it better to be safe than sorry and wait until she's had her vaccinations?

I wouldn’t let the pup mingle with other dogs until she’s fully vaccinated bud.
Put her in a satchel so yas can carry her about with you when you head out, nice way to start the socialising without putting them at risk. I did it with my black lab when I got her the other year when she was having her vaccinations, almost put my back out like as she was 3 month when we got her so late start with the injections 😆.
Cracking choice for ya new best mate though, labs are awesome.

We Had a mint few days down in snowdonia with the boy last week. Was as good as gold in the car for a 10 hour round trip too, our hearts fell out of our arses with dread when the bloke took us to our camping pod which was about 10 yards away from the chicken coup 😂 but he just stood fascinated for a while then forgot they were there.

Something just incredibly satisfying about finishing a wet n windy walk at the pub with your dog cream crackered under you.

As a lot of you will know we lost our Brodey back in November and it fckin killed me and tbh it’s been the most guilt I think I’ve ever felt when we decided to go ahead with getting a new puppy to go back to having two but now she’s here we are all in love!

Meet Freya, our new golden. Can already tell she’s going to be a class dog, very confident happy puppy, causing absolute carnage around the house. Our Nala has been surprisingly chill with her too so we’re just made up truth be told.

Seems though she’s not long had her first injection the satchel has had to come out of retirement for the next month for the morning ‘walks’ with Nala.

Lovely Mate.
You are not replacing Brodey one little bit, thus no guilt. All about grieving and being ready to take another.
Look at it as a dog deserves and needs a decent owner. Some get very unlucky but Freya has a good life in front of her.

Paws like propellers 😂
Beautiful dogs ❤️

Really happy for you all marra.
Nowt better than a lttle bundle of mischief running around the house.

And now all the enjoyment of training her, and learning all about her personality, needs and quirks.

Love the puppy stage because you can see very early on, the adult dog you're ganna end up with.

Cheers bud, It’s gonna be a good year this and I agree with that last bit, I think we’ve nailed it with her.
