He should be on a tiny wage, absolutely no reason why he should be on anything more. He had the chance to move up a division and move to a club like Sunderland. OK we've got a shit team, but in comparison to Walsall or any other teams that may have had an interest (I don't recall there being any others, surprisingly) we're a giant. There's no way he's going to play hardball on wages.

As per usual for SAFC the deal to get him here seemed to drag on for ages, so much so that I was convinced that if we're that determined to get him he must be canny, who wrong could I be, he's like a younger version of Scowen, can't pass, can't shoot and no pace, mind you I've just described the qualities that our scouts don't seem to worry about ! FTM

why shouldhe be on a tiny wage? he isat least an average league one player-which is about 4 grand a week..
fanssaying players should take little money for the "priviledge" of playing forsafc is the sort of ehaviour that will make other fans hatesafc

Who cares about the other fans ? I don't mean it in an arrogant way, if a much bigger club comes in for you whether that be Man U, Real Madrid or even SAFC, it's a fantastic oppurtunity to progress your career. Honestly I can't see him saying 'Na fuck that I'm staying at Walsall unless you pay me top money'.

I'll be gutted if we're paying him £4k a week, even though it's not my money. He should be on no more than £500 a week and possibly a bedsit in Marley Potts. What was he 21 ? Just been relegated and as it turns out, he's also shit. Surely he can't have had the neck to ask for £4k a week ? If he did he should have been sent back home.

Did I read that he was being released or is that not accurate ? If he is then that would suggest that he's too expensive for everybody in this division (Who might want him)

eh? how the fuck wouldplaying for sunderland progress his career at that point? we are league one..he had already been capatain of a league one club..so we were a sideways move...and as fr no other clubs neing interested? wimbledon literally made him an offer this week..same division as sunderland...why would someone with all his league one experience accept less than the league one average wage when he is absolutely proven in league one?

firstly the freaks on here say the preious chairman was skint and only signed cheap players...now its...we pveerpaid players? both cannnot be true..
and releasin him means lots of clubs cant pay a fee..nothing todo with wages...but then most transfers in this league are free...

Need to overpay to get them to move the length of the country. It’s been a NE club problem since the max wage was abolished in 61.
