SAFC Wilks
Striker
I’m not as convinced as others that he’d be off to AFCON mind. Zero game time until mid December at earliest isn’t any way to prepare for an international tournament.
Reads to me like it’s on the more serious end of minor procedure then.Recovery time for a football player after groin surgery depends on the type of surgery and individual factors, but generally:
Minor procedures (e.g., adductor release or minor hernia repair): 6–12 weeks.
More complex surgeries (e.g., sports hernia or extensive groin reconstruction): 3–6 months.
Timeline:
0–2 weeks: Rest, pain management, and limited movement to allow initial healing.
2–6 weeks: Gradual introduction of physical therapy, focusing on mobility and light strengthening.
6–12 weeks: Progressive return to sport-specific training, including running, cutting, and kicking.
12+ weeks: Full return to competitive play, assuming no setbacks.
