Diarra out till December

Increasingly thinking this means going forward we will play 3 at the back with talbi and Hume playing wing backs.
So we signed Masuaku, a left footed LB who has played wing back and is extremely rapid, will be left in the stiffs because Talbi, a right footed winger will be preferred?
Yes Talbi came on yesterday, but mainly because Masuaku came in late, and due to being a man down it was probably felt Talbi was in better match fitness condition.
RLB and team clearly prefer when we have 11 on the pitch to play 4 at the back
If anything he will find a way to bring Geertruida into the defence rather than draft Talbi who is obviously favoured as a creative offensive presence

Isidor
Adingra - Le Fee - Xhaka - Sadiki - Talbi
Reinildo - Alderete - Mukiele - Hume
Roefs

Subs: Patterson, Masuaku, Geertrudia, Rigg, Mayenda, Traore, Brobbey
No Ballard? I was talking to a Villa fan on the train home and he reckons Traore is is poor.

OPs name checks out. This is f***ing devastating. I don't know if Neill has the legs to replace Diarra. This will be the making of Rigg if he takes the opportunity though.
Maybe good use of substitutes will mean half time substitutions ... surely if Neill is that close to a first team place he can play 45 minutes at premiership speed and intensity.

Yes could be making of Rigg .. but for God sake don't play him for the full 90 match after match...keep on looking after his and Sunderland's future

DONT PANIC man ,really like Diarra but he wasnt there on Saturday. We have a great squad now and Reggie will adapt the tactics to continue our momentum.I have already inquired about AIRNB around the San Siro area for 2026/27.KTF

He looked owt but rapid on Sunday mind. Looked like he was towing a caravan at one point when he ran out to close down Cash. Got nowhere near him.

We were down to ten men - needs must situation.

At times we were in 2 banks of 4 with Alderete coming left.

I don't think we make those changes with 11 men on the pitch.

We've got the depth to stick to our guns.
We've also got the versatility to change how we play
Its a very good and viable option for us
