Thursdays match IS NOT more important than Saturdays. How people come out with this shit is beyond me. We need to get there in our numbers to roar the lads on to a huge win. 3-0 or 4-0 meanin Portsmouth have too much to do in the 2nd leg.

Thursday is more important to me. You don't speak or think for me.

People make arrangements in advance. I went away the day after the Portsmouth game so I didn't miss it. I've got a weekend away this week to watch a more important football competition.
And that is obviously understandable, but I struggle to believe 15 thousand people have all made plans for this weekend when its been likely all season theres a good chance we will be in the play-offs. A couple thousand people unable to make it sounds right. 15k, almost certainly not

Absolutely baffling that we got 41k for the league game a few weeks back so that must be at the very least 35k normal seats in home end. Where have 14k went? Its a Saturday ffs, I could understand a midweek for exiles etc but if we end up being 10k+ short of the league game a few weeks back its absolutely pathetic.
Evening games for exiles are a lot more difficult than you would imagine even Saturday games and this one has the added complication of short notice and virtually no hotel accommodation available cos of half marathon. Don’t forget about 30% of our season ticket holders live out side NE postcode areas

Thursday's game is obviously the more crucial like. If you go into it two nil down then the result of the game on Thursday is the one that determines whether or not you go through, win 3-0 and Saturdays result didn't matter at all. Nothing can be decided on Saturday, even a 4-0 win isn't a guarantee, everything will be decided by the end of Thursday's match, so aye, you're right

Only two days after the Liverpool/Barcelona game proves my point.

My son has a tournament in Blackpool so that's 3 season card holders missing including my other son. People would also have had to assume the first game would be at home which I never expected a few weeks ago

The rest will be in the pub spending £20 on beer and watching the match there I'm afraid.

Your twisted words and logic not mine

I'm choosing not to go having seen enough of the shite churned out by Ross for this season ta very much

Likewise re season card and Wembley although I decided ages ago I won't be going to Wembley should we make it. Won't bother watching the game as it will be shite.
The more you try and defend your actions, the more mental you sound:lol:.
Anyway I'm done with this thread.
Enjoy your sc in the champo next season;).
Mad as a box of frogs.

They should read all the threads from the last couple of weeks and find all the cùnts that have been moaning and bed wetting because we didnt finish first like it was our divine right and ban them for life IMO

Its going to be properly embarrasing on Saturday isnt it. Attendance will be lower than what Boro would get in our situation. Fans and clubs usually pull together for play offs. Not ours though, fans have spat their dummy because form hasnt been great and its £20 each. Pathetic. We'll get righly slaughtered off fans of any other club and also the media will pick up on it for sure. People questioned Methven when he said expectations were too high. Having less than our average for a play off semi would mean we should all be questioning what size of club we are and where we aim to be in the next 5 or 6 years.

I agree tbh mate.

I'm on a stag doo Satda so wont be there. Not even bothered.

Nor will I be going to Wembley as cant afford it and weekend before payday on a 5 week month.

People arranged events not thinking our team would be shit enough to only finish in the league one playoffs. Simple really.

I don't understand the last line of this post at all. How many weeks of the season were we in the top 2? Not many. We were not quite good enough during the season and surprise, surprise ended up not quite good enough. People need to arrange events, of course they do, but nobody should have been surprised we didn't quite make it.

Im one of them mate  but would have thought most fans would have made the effort for the biggest game of the season if they possibly could.

And they stay over every match?? If they can get home after a league match why do they need a hotel room Saturday?

Aye spot on. Obviously going to be people missing out for them reasons which is always the way but not over 30% of the people at Portsmouth in the league, no chance.

Exactly. Like many others I work all week. Saturday is a day when I like to relax, and I choose to do that by having some drinks and going to the match. If you've had a few before kick off you tend to want another at half time, especially if you're then going to have some after the match. Obviously I could go without, but I'd rather not. I wait until there's a break in play around the 40 minute mark and go then so that I don't overly disturb those around me. I watch the last few minutes of the half on the tele, get served about when the whistle goes, and can then have my pint before the second half starts. I find it canny but like I say I wouldn't miss a minute of the match if they could actually get you served quickly. I then stay until the end.

Still find it staggering how long they can take to serve people though, and they used to have those mobile beer things you could go to in the north stand which also sped things up if you just wanted lager, they seem to have gone now. I've been down at a decent time, only about 5 ahead of me in the queue and it's still taken ages, pouring each pint to order, f***ing about trying to get change. Takes at least a minute to serve most people, which doesn't sound like ages but come down on the halftime whistle with 20 people before you in the queue and it becomes an issue. We should be wanting the club to look into that, rather than suggesting that people should just go without a pint instead
At least we can hopefully get served quicker on Saturday with hardly any one going to the match. Plus traffic will be less, so hopefully back to the local quicker.

I prefer smaller crowds from a purely selfish point of view.
