County Cricket 2023

No real sign of "Bazball" anywhere thankfully. I feared the counties would all be trying it (or be told to try from higher up)
Although on closer inspection, it's a bit deceptive as a lot of overs were lost. Lots of normal looking scores from a full day's cricket, except most didn't get a full day.

I take it back

Steel had a really solid 1st 2 years opening in his 1st 2 years at Durham but was struck a fearful blow on the head the next pre-season. It clearly affected his confidence that season and his form and he was peddled early next season.Batting down the order will hopefully help him to regain his former high standard.

Looking at the scorecards from divison 2 there definitely doesnt look like there is an outstanding team that is clearly better than the rest.
With Yorkshire having a nightmare with their original overseas and Glamorgan never having theirs available there is a real chance for Durham to get off to a strong start.

From today's Times
"Steel had enjoyed a successful winter in Perth, Western Australia, winning the medal for the most outstanding player in grade cricket for his club Claremont-Nedlands and this confidence and good form was apparent".

Brandon had a connection with them for a time. Jim Allenby’s club.

I always liked him, great to watch on form, spoke well and seemed a nice lad as well as talented. I thought we ditched him too soon and I'd love to see him kick on to have a great career

Canny stand by Simpson and Higgins for Middlesex who were in deep, deep shit at the start of their innings. Currently 137/5 after being 4/4.
Also Zak Crawley ended up making 91 for Kent. Fair play.
