Aye he has, he bowled poorly in Australia in my opinion, I am sure his averaged looked fine but he just bowled defensively and wasted the new ball
Aye he is probably the player with the best record who hasnt been tried like

I don’t think he bowled badly in Australia but I think he’s now a brilliant defensive first change rather than a brilliant attacking opening bowler.
He no longer rips through top orders.

Aye thats an interesting thought like, take him off the new ball and make him first change
I love Jimmy, but it has been a slight issue broad on really eally flat ones when with the new ball you just have to attack for the first 10 overs

this backs up what you were saying, really good piece
Makes the point that although he is still bowling well England are desperate for a strike bowler, especially with the new ball, and although we have lower averages, a lot of teams have bowlers who take wickets with a lot less balls
We missed that in this latest run

Wonder if that's in the thoughts when the time comes around that Archer and Wood are fit together. Those two opening and one of Jimmy/Broad as first change.
