I asked if there was a way to check whether it hadnt been paid yet due to sheer volume, or if there was for example a validation error and they said no!

When i asked "how long do you give it....there must be a cut off?" the lass actually said "September!" :eek::lol:

Aye, DD, for last 17 yrs!

Ive actually got it now. Went in yesterday.

But, i wouldnt have it.....gotta be careful what i say here :lol: .... i told a mate who works in that area, who had a mate who works in the specific field, who gave me a ring back and (after doing security etc) confirmed that there was a validation error on the account (had my mrs maiden name still from 17 yrs ago) and then changed stuff for me and it went through.

Basically if it fails the validation (which doesnt stop them taking your council tax btw!!!) then it gets kicked out and added to a list of not paid where they're going to be contacting people over time. God knows how long that would have took!!!!

Still nee sign of mine like. I was wondering if me paying the council tax but the council tax being in my partners name could be causing an issue.

It will be. Government insisted Council do checks (whatever the fuck that means) to ensure money is paid to Council Tax liable person rather than the name on the bank account.
 
As am essentially gormless didn't realise it's a bit longer if don't pay by direct debit

Got a letter today from the luscious Durham County Council
 
I got an email purporting to be from ofgen which I suspect to be a scam.
Would it be ofgen that contacts you about rebates to your council tax.
