This. Went in for a quick pint after getting back from Coventry. It's very much as you describeTraditional old shit hole of a pub.
I like it.
Same here until this season -change of dynamic in who I go with and when we meet up means we go straight to the stadium and go for a pint in Poetic afterwards insteadHarbour View been going there for years
They were young fit birds when I first started going in, never buy a bag of crisp now.Went I for the first time ever on Tuesdays as we had arranged to meet a lad, oldest bar staff ever, one didn’t serve and the other two struggled to move their Zimmer frames around the bar whilst turning in their heating aids.
Never again, Avenue everyday
Apart from The Wolsey, I’d agree.
Don’t mind the HB but tends to stink of farts all the time imoHarbour View been going there for years
I normally go in Karbon Grill/Hilton if I drink near stadium, more expensive for a pint but a scratter free zone. Stick to Colliery Tavern if you like pints in plastic glasses and a pub full of whoppers.
That video kicking about of it before was amazing
Whoppers ? elucidate ?I normally go in Karbon Grill/Hilton if I drink near stadium, more expensive for a pint but a scratter free zone. Stick to Colliery Tavern if you like pints in plastic glasses and a pub full of whoppers.
Aye funny as fuckIs that where the raves blasting?
What's people's thoughts on the pub over the road? Or does any one recommend any others close by? In all the years I've been going to sunderland matches I've only ever went to the colliery tavern purely based on distance from the ground.
Opinions would be very much appreciated.

Royal Navy Club, The Engineers Club then the Red Lion and the Terminus for me.
It’s just shit really. There are far better pubs with the description you have used if willing to be a bit further away from the ground. It’s small and doesn’t have a lot of drink options.Traditional old shit hole of a pub.
I like it.
Do you do a hand stand and then walk there? f***ing 10 min walkColliery Tavern. Lovely pint, no food (other than crisps and nuts etc.). Great service and literally a ten minute walk to the ground .
