I live in a place where you’re considered dressed up if you’re wearing long strides so I get positive comments whenever I’m on the job suited and booted.

The daftest thing I hear, with alarming regularity, is ‘nice suit!’ when I’m clearly wearing a jacket and non-matching strides.

Has suit wearing become such an archaic habit that a seemingly large chunk of the population no longer actually know what a ‘suit’ is?

Certainly not mate. He was being genuine. It work in a very dressed-down sort of office, I look like shit most days and that includes wearing band t-shirts.
