Championship clubs threatening to break away

That was Leeds. Does that mean their glory years stretched from the late 60s through to the early 90s?
69, 74 and 92.
With an FA cup in 72.

No it means success in football used to go in cycles (still does in some type of way) some teams are considered one of the big teams one decade but could be relegated the next. Arsenal are the team that has pretty much always been near the top from the late 1800's to modern day (cue something with info to prove me wrong). Just look back when the premier League was formed and see which teams were considering ITV's break away league

The article doesn't actually say what they want.

It says they want the EFL to refuse the Sky offer and go back to the market. And this:

“Furthermore, in this meeting — when surveyed anonymously — almost all attendees expressed the view that if the EFL were unwilling to give these clubs more involvement in the process of commercialising their rights, they would, in extremis, be forced to contemplate more drastic action.”

Im surprised villa haven't joined in yet...

They are one of the alleged 15 clubs backing the move apparently:

In addition to the leading duo, the 15 signatories are believed to include Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City, Reading, Preston North End, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Swansea City and Birmingham City, with smaller clubs such as Rotherham United and Millwall siding with the EFL. Brentford are understood to be the only club of the 16 who attended the meeting not to support the threat to leave the EFL.

They should put a tax on the proposed European super league and 'gift' the championship break away league a prize to the winners each year. It would be the metaphorical equivalent of throwing scraps if food to the homeless and making them fight for it.

Arsenal were in the second division in the late 1800s. They didn't play top flight until about 1906.

You're also arguing a different point to the one I initially made, I'm not even sure what your point is though.
2 league titles almost 50 years ago and one 26 year ago doesn't look like any kind of cycle to me.

And this is the evidence to sort of prove me wrong, so ok since the early 20th century arsenal have been there or there abouts aka a big club.

Also just because you are not winning the league or cups it doesn't mean you aren't a big side or have a good history. Look at us in the early 50's. We were probably still seen as a big club (bank of England club) even though we hadn't won anything since 37......then Trevor ford sang like a Canary
