CC :: Middlesex v Durham

Absolutely the right approach for these two to go for runs rather than attempt to block, both positive batters and whilst it looks hopeless a decent partnership building the lead is the best option.

The way Raine was batting, thats a crazy shot from Rushworth, last ball of the over, just block it. Having said that our proper batters didnt do the job 2nd innings.

The brains trust would have dropped borthwick hahaha
Why not! He’s dropped quite a lot himself recently.
This is absolutely piss poor. Apart from Badger only Salisbury seems capable of doing what’s required. He’s rode his luck but is playing with soft hands and putting the odd bad ball away. Plus once he faced up to the first ball of the last over yesterday his job was done. He’s batted 2 hours this morning which nobody else is apparently capable of.

At around 12.25 this game was headed for a draw within 35 mins the initiative has been handed over to Middlesex on a plate.
The night watchman deserves a bit of overtime for his efforts don’t you think? Lasted an entire session and two bits. Superb effort. Without him we’d have been back home by now.

Blame lies with the Head Coach. He's absolutely shite.
He wants to think himself lucky that this is cricket and not football. With that track record he'd have been long gone. It does appear that the dressing room has been lost as well as this match.

As you have said before the only time Durham have looked like a team since we were allowed to return to the grounds a year ago was in the RL50 last season when Franklin buggered off for the 16.4.

And Rushy doesn't get the new ball at all.
If Rushy was bowling to his usual standard we wouldn't have a problem especially so if the 4th bowler contributes with a couple of wickets ie Salisbury+Gibson. Raine is ding fine, Carse is not but he did get a couple and he's been out for while injured.

Be interesting if Stokes fancies a few overs in what is probably his Durham red ball swansong this season 🤔
So we take Potts off after a world class 3 overs last week yet we have left Carse on for 4 overs so far :lol:
Not much left in the cupboard mate. Maybe Coggers back soon but after that just younguns in the Seconds . Borthwick doesn't seem interested in bowling so Drissell might get a sniff.Think thats the last we'll see of Stokes in FC this season, definitely no Woody and limited games with Potts .Carse seems a long way short of Test team but maybe ODI and T20🤔
