196-8. Rushy strikes with the fourth ball from the new cherry.

Still looks to be doing a bit mind, our bowlers have done very well today to keep them within touching distance but it’s looking like it’ll be very difficult for our batsmen second time round.

If they get a lead of 100 I can’t see us getting 300 unfortunately - which would put us in with a chance. One of Bancroft or Lees would have to go very big IMO.

Jack Campbell

A tall left-arm seamer, Jack Campbell joined Durham in the summer of 2018 after impressing on trial.

The former Hampshire academy prospect put in a string of good performances for the Second XI & earned a call-up for England under-19s, making his debut against South Africa at South North CC in July 2018.

Campbell also studies at Durham University & appeared for their MCCU side against his Durham team mates in the 2019 pre-season fixture

All out 212. Rushie 5 for 55. Campbell looks a good prospect. Need to bring some batters through or sign 2 urgently.

The problem how many proven batsmen want to come to Durham and spend half their summer batting at the Riverside.
and is the spicy pitch the reason we don't produce batsmen.

What good batsmen have we produced? Colly, Stokes Rocky, Borthwick .... now I'm struggling to think of more.

Tea: 93-0 trail by 2. Bancroft 41* Lees 46*

Excellent response, both batsmen have looked to get forward to nullify any seam movement, Lees especially has looked to address it by taking a guard on a 4th stump (on the offside) line.

Could still do with both of them getting hundreds mind

Tea 93-0, trail by 2.

Muchall's record wasn't that bad all told...

Aye, much lamented on here but he did score 14 FC hundreds in fairness to him.

103-0 biggest opening partnership of the season.

Stream is down, useless Leicester bastards.

Both openers have past 50, Bancroft off 78 balls, Lees off 79. Six fours for CB, five for AL. 110-0, lead by 15.

120-0, this partnership has now bettered our entire first innings.

Only Durham could be all out for 117 in the first innings and 117-0 in the second innings.

Never a dull moment!

Have a look at their records playing championship cricket at Durham.
Remember Rocky was a kick in the backside off getting released because opening at the Riverside is so difficult in his early days. Collys championship record is pretty average when you consider what he achieved with England.
Also think of all the other outstanding batting prospects we have had who at England U19 level where considered the best batsmen in the country who failed miserably at the Riverside.
