CC :: Durham v Nottinghamshire

I was expecting a tight game, not an 11 wicket win. To think not one of our batsmen got anywhere near Slater. Shite

In fairness everyone was wanking themselves silly about how strong our batting line up is now
Looked decent on paper. Shame cricket is played on grass. They can't have expected Petersen to be as disappointing as he has been and Lees and Carse to be crocked (although there must have been a reasonable expectation Lees would be lost to England and they did nowt about that).
.
Deserved to be booed off for that performance. Was due to go down today but sacked it off after Friday's performance.

What the fuck is wrong with lees by the way?

Gut feeling is that the batting is ok, despite appearances in this game. The fact that it looks as if Nottingham were batting on a different pitch to us is just as much a pointer that our bowling was sub par or our batting was. I'd say we only had one bowler who was worth his salt in this game, and that was Potts again.

I can't understand why Gibson wasn't rested nor why Salisbury didn't play (although there may be a good reason for that that we don't know). My big worry is Rushy.

To be fair, that full strength Notts side is a very good side, they only missed being top of CC last year by a couple of points. Also we were without 4 regular players.Particularly puzzling, therefore, that the experienced Salisbury was omitted. Not that puzzling, however, when I remember who's responsible for team selection. Seen or heard very little of Franklin this season come to think of it and clearly didn't think he had a duty to front up after that spineless display.
Rushy's form is the biggest concern.

32 extras in our second innings
Home, fed and watered I've had an hour or so to digest the shambles I witnessed today.

Merely my opinion but something just isn't right here. A few things from around the ground the last few days which I believe are valid points/concerns.

1 - Borthwick captaincy........... I'm a little lost with it. If he wasn't captain would he be in the team?
2 - Franklin - When is it acceptable to question him? Before any mentions the final last season, that was Alan Walker and Will Gidman's work. Franklin went to the 100 which didn't sit well with me but hey ho. I get the impression he's very well liked.
3 - Bowling - Only Potts looks decent, what is going on??
4 - The Ground - Absolute tip
5 - Is Ollie Gibson a better selection than Salisbury?
6 - Who drops out when Lees returns?
7 - The way we gave up today is a major concern, it was pathetic today 117 in 33.5 overs with 32 extras, appalling.
8 - Is the coaching the issue?

Just very frustrated but we go again next week. Will be interesting to see how the bowlers go on an away pitch.

1) Borthwick - no
2) Franklin - always, and he should have faced the music today. I don’t think he’s popular.
3) Bowling- Worrying but I’m sure it will come good. Unlucky with Trev, and Gibson didn’t deliver.
4) Ground - Not seen it yet
5) Gibson better? Silly question.
6) When Lees returns - Should be Borthwick dropping out
7) Yes, but I could see it coming once that first innings lead passed 200. It’s a daunting task against a decent bowling attack especially when you’ve been demoralised in the field for 120 plus overs and can see the fragility of your own bowling attack.
8) I think it’s management/ coaching.
