I may have completely imagined this....With regard to 'declaring overnight', I thought you could declare as late as 10 minutes before start of play, something to do with allowing 7 minutes of pitch rolling. Apologies if wrong, my brain is slow today.

Maybe get Mark Butcher to cover it from the Riverside dressed up as if he's about to undertake a South Pole expedition.

Get a couple of blokes dressed up as rather camp Lions to throw cheap T shirts into the crowd so that uninterested kids can fight over them.
