CC :: Durham v Leicestershire

Aye maybe. I'll worry about Durham imploding when it happens and not base it off people pissed off we didn't win

I didn't start the rumour............ (as stated above the bbc fella even mentioned it)

I'm not pissed off we didn't win either. Couldn't fault the players for their efforts, they don't prepare the pitch & can't imagine they're happy with such a poor pitch in April. A draw was the best outcome.

Just been looking at the total runs scored for the first game in April at the Riverside in recent years.

2022 - 1123 - draw 366 overs
2021 - 1197 - draw 372 overs

2019 - 827
2018 - 525
2017 - 827
2016 - 658 (3 innings)

2013 - 684
2012 - 878

Can't find membership books for some of the other years but interesting to note I am pretty sure we changed the wickets a couple of year ago?

The obvious comment is that you need to get out more.

Wasn't Vic demain (if I've remembered his name right) brought in to make the pitches more bat friendly?

Honestly we can't spent 20 years complaining about not developing batsmen or spinners then complain about not skittling teams out like we used to

I've just spent 4 days out  now nursing sunburn on my face .

I think it may well be a directive to all (Somerset apart seemingly), to make wickets more batting friendly. Someone implied the ECB have asked for this, but I'm not aware of reading such report? Only 2 results in our division so far is a tad telling though.

Needs to be a fine line, can't imagine it's easy to prepare a wicket to please everyone but thought that wicket was very extreme this game. Felt a bit sorry for the bowlers.

Be interesting to see how the wicket plays next week as I'd imagine Broad will be playing.

Part timer! As Mr @The Red Telephone pointed out, i've already hit double digits for days at the cricket this season

Good effort, spoke to a few away regulars today and they were commenting on how expensive it's becoming now for away games but they always speak well of the Cardiff trip. though how some of them travel to save a few quid is impressive.... Lumo train to London, then National Express to Cardiff (return), one of the lads got it all in for about £50 travel which is impressive.

45£ return on the megabus but it was 9 hours each way ... First time I'd been to Cardiff. It's mint like but the ground was incredibly disappointing. There's a great pub outside the ground but naff all inside.

Why don't the stewards do owt about this tatey? I'm all for passion and encouraging the team but he was shouting when Davis was running up to bowl yesterday.

He knows no better really given his condition. He's absolutely harmless. I've got to know his Dad well in the last year and have started to understand more about Jamie and his condition. The away team players and management had a group photo with him after the game tonight, he got a cap off them and Paul Nixon tweeted about Jamie after the game, so I don't think the Leicestershire lads were put off by him and that seems to general feeling amongst all really, Alistair Cook was great with him last year for example. Only 1 player has ignored/refused a photo with him and that was Broad last year.

The Durham players/staff are absolutely great with him mind, especially Rushy.

Must be more to broad thing I'm sure he wouldn't deliberately refuse or ignore
