CC: Durham v Glamorgan

The PA today was a joke today even by Durham's standards so did anyone actually hear an announcement made that there is a Members Forum at the close of play tomorrow or was it just my ears that failed to here anything?

Surely they arent hoping no one turns up??😉

where is Sol Bell from?
Durham

Went to Durham school. Family used to live/may still live at Neville’s cross way.

Nobody who has followed Durham junior cricket for the last decade will be the least bit surprised too see the lad play for Durham. My son was at pains to remind me today that he had sol caught for 1 earlier on this season in an under 18s game cls cc v sacriston cc

Is Gareth Harte injured?

I'm all for competition for places, but seems to be very chop and change with our batting line-up this season, even when promotion was still a possibility. Lees and Watling are the only specialist batsmen who are automatic picks.

it would be good if we did bring Borthwick back, as we need that stability at the top of the order.

Anyone there? Is it raining yet?

Isn’t meant to rain until noon - if we’re optimistic it may even stay away an hour or so more, BUT I think light will keep them off until then anyway unfortunately.

Bad Light is easily my most hated form of play suspension

Edit - Start delayed due to rain, which is very minimal because the groundstaff haven’t even bothered covering anywhere except the wicket.

Just outside Durham use to drop his dad off after he played in same team as my son few years ago

Good SAFC fan his dad
Is Burnham just contracted to the end of the season? Does he deserve another year?

Think so am sure he will get an extension been a bit of a nearly man last few years just not quite done enough but still worth a gamble

I’m at the ground now. Just been announced that the Members Forum will take place at the end of play today, whenever that is. So any time today.

Covers now being removed from the bowlers run ups. Rope about to be ran around the outfield. Hoping to start play 11.10.

Anyone able to summarise the members forum for those of us at work tonight?!

Reckon it’ll be a positive audience for once

Dry all morning in CLS so I walked down and just as I arrived at 10.20 it started to piss down and with no break in the clouds I walked back.☹

Will keep an eye on proceedings.

BJ Watling 100* from 201 balls with 10 fours.

Cracking knock - now for 300.

Trivia time, who was the last Durham player to score a first innings century at Chester-le-street after being inserted??
I didn’t go down today on the back of the forecast, I can’t believe that the light is better this morning than when they went off last night:evil:

If I’m honest I don’t believe it is. Surprised when they went off yesterday, was in CLS at the time and didn’t feel it was at all a problem.

And that’s it for the day I reckon.

Mind the forecast for the rest of the March looks ok at present, 40% chance of rain on Day 4 but other than that dry. Will be an extra 8 overs available both days (light permitting) and it’s in Glamorgan’s interest for now atleast to try and get a result. We hold the aces, can’t see a situation where they win it in all honesty but quite confident in two days that we could bowl them out twice.

F#ck me, I hope we’re not carrying the game over until then

Big pools of water forming on the outfield, so I’ve gone home. Was hoping to go to the Members Forum but don’t fancy hanging around for a few hours, until play is officially abandoned for the day, and then waiting for it to start,
