I'd have let go of Burnham ages ago personally
Well, his yield so far may suggest you’re not best suited to a player recruitment/retention role

I'd play Diamond to be honest, he's an excellent footballer but so is Jones. In reference to why you asked the question, I believe Trev is a good cricketer, whereas I don't see the point in the Thomson signing and he's only here another few weeks.Should sunderland play jack diamond because he's our player or play Jordan Jones
Well we'll never know what Trevaskis (for example) might be like now if he'd been given him the undeserved backing Burnham hass got off the club for the last few years will we? Or Scott Steel still being at the club, though I've no idea how he's doing att Leicestershire (I think it is?)
The u19 performances was what five years ago? And I'd argue his second chance was after failing his first drug test not after failing three drug tests and several years of not looking that interested in being a cricketer.Scott Steel was offered a deal, from what I’ve been told it was very reasonable, but he chose to leave - perhaps he was given assurances about further opportunities at Leicestershire but after the first month of the season it seems his role there will be no different to what it was here - white ball batsman.
As for Burnham, given his record breaking U19 performances - the club and coaches clearly feel he’s worthy of a second chance, the lad has clearly got talent, hopefully this year we’ll see it come to the fore. At the very least, he’s started well.

You know why I made the comparison you play your better players and diamond might become a good player but he hasn't been excellent for sunderlandIt's more than just a "second chance" mind. For me it's make or break this season for him and he's started well
Would a dobber in the middle be any real difference to the 4 man attack we had in this game? Got to find a competent spinner, a real quick (when Case isn't available) or at least a left armer to give them something to think about. Any chance of Wood playing a game or two in May?

Jamie Harrison would have had a decent career as a county pro sadly body just couldn't stand up to the rigor of county cricket.I think anything that provides the captain with a bit of variation would be an improvement, but I agree a spinner, genuine quick of left armer would be better.
Out of interest, who is the last left arm seamer to play regular first team cricket for Durham? Simon Brown? Our much vaunted pace bowling production line seems to consistently fail to produce lefties. I believe Jack Campbell is left arm but doesn't appear to be about to break into the first team any time soon.

Wood will have a big say in when and how much cricket he needs to play outside of England duty.I think he and the club are expecting that to be allowed.
My point was you don't just play players because they are yours how many times have you seen Thomson"your better players" - how many times have you watched Trev and Thomson live?
Burnham is clearly an exceptional talent and it does appear this season that he's finally maturing. Leicestershire are a very weak redball team and Scot Steel can get nowhere near their team. There was clearly something amiss last year and he chose to leave-as is his right. End ofIt's more than just a "second chance" mind. Can you stop the whole how many times have you seen someone live you only say it to me and especially if you haven't seen him yourselfUnsure to be honest, name doesn't ring any bells though.
Seems an utterly pointless signing.
If they aren't going to give Trev a go they may as well get rid of him and save a few quid
Steel move seemed a bit weird, still can't fathom that one. Burnham all the talent in the word, needs to get his mentality right and if he does it's our gain. This season is massive for him

You haven't seen someone yourself and you question meNope.
