CC :: Durham v Derbyshire

brandon

Striker
Onto the next one......

Starts Thursday, not expecting wholesale changes but we might see a rotation of the seamers; especially if Carse’s ankle shows lasting effects of his injury from Day 3 at Essex.

We’ve gone 9 games without a win :o

Carse was limping yesterday when batting.
Likely a choice between Potts and Coggers. 2nds v Derbyshire 2nds starting today at South North might give us some idea.

I told you they had Carse bowling owa many overs. That would be a huge miss.

As Wood isn't eligible then it has to be Potts first cab off the rank. Suspect they will pick Coughlin for sunk cost fallacy reasons however.

Matt Critchley warming up nicely for his annual tormenting of Durham with 109 and 84 against Worcs along with 5-67 and 3-76.

Durham on their worst run of four day cricket games without a win since 2003.

If that doesn't ensure a home win then I dont know what will.

He is turning into a very handy cricketer that lad. A few of them knocking about the county circuit who appear to contribute in plenty of matches with runs and wickets. Ed Barnard at Worcester is another one.

Since potts has been playing for 2nds and Coggers been in the 13 man squad assume he'll come in for carse and that will probably be that, everyone else has shown enough at times to keep their place, especially with no real pressure on positions from anyone outside of Coggers and potts.

except why did we sign an off-spinner on load? Is our newly laid square going to be a bunsen?

Ton for Jones now too. Seconds are flying! Must say, love the fixture layout this season where the Second XI mirrors the First XI fixtures just a few days in advance.

Best thing about this season so far is the consistancy in the fixtures, I've wanted this for ages. Same start every week gives casual fans a chance to follow the league.

If they'd make the 50 over league on Monday night every week as well (or shuffle the games so it's a Sat/Sun/Monday start for the CC and a Friday night) then it would be spot on.

They'll probably schedule the games to start the same time as the 16.4 and force them to bowl so fast they end the same time.

Day 2, Lunch:

Durham Second XI 512-4 (124 overs) Clark 147, Jones 179*, Bushnell 71, Coughlin 38*.
-
Edit: Durham 552/4 declared. Jones 200*, Coughlin 58*.

Derbyshire 106/4 in reply. 2 wickets for Potts and Gibson
.
"Umpire: P Mustard...."
138/7, wickets for Thomson and Campbell. Campbell's was an absolute snorter
.
Derbyshire second xi 187 all out. They'll be following on the morra
.
Nope, we're batting again. Opening with Dickson and Bell.
.
Dickson and Bell out for spare change. Trevaskis and Thomson next in - this innings is looking like a batting trial for first team.

Disgraceful that we’re batting again. Complete disrespect shown to the opposition, unprofessional in my view and uncalled for.
It looks like they wanted to take a look at certain individuals' batting. Can't imagine we will bat that long.

Aye, thought that, just think it’s really disrespectful to the opposition. Can’t imagine the umpires will be too enamoured with it either like.

What do you really learn from a player batting when we're 300-400 ahead, presumably they'll come out and have a thrash otherwise it's just a farce
