Buying property abroad

I've been looking into this recently. The best advice I can give for anyone thinking of buying abroad is to hire a local advocacy firm who speak English to make sure all the legalities are checked and okay. Don't just rely on the estate agent.

Not really just his choice at the end of the day tho.
Didn't say it was, but he's been in the business here for 40+ years. I'd take his thoughts on it over anyone else.

You don't need a Visa if you stay for up to 3 months. That's long enough for me for now but at a later date I will be applying for a retirement visa - all you need to do is prove income of £2000 per month. Any age qualifies too
I'd you don't get murdered before then obviously. ;)

You can walk around La Zenia, and only hear Scandinavian voices.
Talked to the in-laws today, they told me that the top end, near the boulevard is the bit you will have heard this.
To me, that's the "new" bit and we don't go up there all that often.

Colleague bought a place in Spain for around 170000. Two years later was valued at around 50000.
If I had the money now I would buy in Gozo.
They are going to build a tunnel between Malta and Gozo at some point and the prices will go up.
Even though most things are imported in to Gozo it's remained cheap for food and drink.
3 course meal last night of canny quality was 13.50 and wine 5 EU for a carafe.
The game of thrones carry on seemed to make the place more popular.
Absolutely packed during the summer with 18-30 age groups.
Luckily only a tiny minority are British

Where was that? Main courses somewhere decent seem to vary from 15 to 25 Euros.

Absolutely zero chance of a tunnel between Malta and gozo. Not a f***ing chance
