Would still drserve his place ahead of Hemir et al, knackered legs, full of the gargle, ancient and deed into the bargain.Would've been 89

Actually watched The Damned United again the other night. Brilliant film. Football legend, what could have been if he had managed us, we'll never know.
Watched the actual interview with him and Revie and as far as what they put in the film re that scene it was a million miles away, iirc there was a lot of criticism about large portions of the movie being not true to life.Couldn’t disagree with you more think it’s absolutely awful film & miles better documentries about clough than that garbage

Agreed. Didn't like the movie. Not realistic. I think it was filmed at Chesterfield's ground. Bremener resumed a cartoon character The CGI scenery was unrealistic. Give me This Sporting Life in grainy monochrome anytime.Watched the actual interview with him and Revie and as far as what they put in the film re that scene it was a million miles away, iirc there was a lot of criticism about large portions of the movie being not true to life.
If the powers that were at SAFC had not sacked him when he was Coach for us , who knows what might of happened
That was arguably a bigger missed opportunity. Not only was he a decent manager, he connected with the fans more than any manager I can ever remember. Not only that, his sidekick was a local fella who turned themWe could have appointed Shankly at one point as well
It's difficult to argue with what he achieved/created effective team wise with very limited resources. The best all round manager this country has produced.

Yes ! He finished at SAFC end of April 65 starting at Hartlepool in October . In Jonathan Wilson book Brian Clough it tells of who put him in charge of the youth team and the reaction of the Directors.Did they? Thought he resigned to take the Hartlepool job.
I've always said we've been Brighton more than Derby or forest
I always wonder what would've happened if he didn't get the career ending injury.
(SAFC would probably have flogged him cheap)
