Borini

Chris Young, man. His source the other day said we would have to wait until the end of the window to sign Borini.

I wonder why it took him a day to post that news.

in case anybody hasnt read this

Gus Poyet had this to say about the Borini deal: “What I can say is that we have agreed [a deal] with Liverpool, we are waiting for correspondence and then we move on from there. It’s clear the impact Fabio had last season. And we are going to spend that amount of money on a player that we know how much he can give us. He would be perfect for us. It’s an ongoing thing. We have done the steps that we needed to do properly, and now we are waiting. We want to do things the right way.”

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers said: “He spent a really successful period with Sunderland last year, and it’s obviously a fantastic club. They’ve offered to buy Fabio and that’s where it’s at. There is an agreement between the two clubs, but nothing is agreed with the player as of yet. So at the moment he’s still very much a Liverpool player, but when that changes I’m sure you’ll be among the first to know.”

I understand people being a bit jittery, but that's very reassuring surely?

Both managers talking about when rather than if and good sources claiming the lad has been pushing for the move himself.

Piss off and clue up Bindipper.

He's £8.5M rising to a maximum of £14M based on performance. If that £14M is reached he'll be a superstar.
He's right in fairness.

And why do people keep saying this, every media outlet is reporting it being £12m upfront and £2m on add ons, yet our fans insist on manipulating it to be either 8 or 10 upfront. We are overpaying, stop trying to justify it.

That's your opinion. The other transfer fees going about at the moment suggest you're completely out of touch.

Aye, I'd like to know where the £8.5m is coming from. The only thing I can find is a lot of the Borini articles mention Liverpool are buying Remy for that fee.

The Sunderland Echo is about the only paper with good sources at the club like, the club just tells them what they need to know

What absolute horse shit.
Its absolutely 10000000% true. It is because of his derby goals and the fact he tries hard that people cream themselves over someone who, whilst a good player, wasn't even our best player in one of the worst (league) seasons in recent times, and are accepting this deal as some sort of bargain.

Theres a reason why the rest of the country and Liverpools fans are laughing.

12m for Graham and Altidore makes this look like peanuts , you pay extra for quality and Borini has it in abundance , i still dont think he will come tho
see my above posts. You've gone too the extreme end of the spectrum and picked our (arguably) two worst deals in the last 5 year.

Or we could just look at the most recent strikers signed by us as a fair comparison:

Gyan 13m
Wickham 8m
Ji 2m
Fletcher 12m
Graham 5m
Altidore 8m
Scocco 4m

Given his age and proven worth 12m for Borini is clearly in the right ballpark.
