Having heard where these reports in Italy about Borini supposedly not wanting to join SAFC have come from, wouldn't believe a word of it

Take it none of you realise how loyalty payments work when a player leaves a club, if it's the club selling and the player doesn't ask to leave the player received a loyalty bonus, suggest this is all Fabio and his agent are doing!

The two journalists who broke the story yesterday (one from Liverpool, one from the north east) but specifically cited his desire to come back to Sunderland as being one of the main reasons they accepted the bid.

If this has indeed been stated by the agent (doubtful, probably a re-hashing of old quotes) then I'd assume he's protecting the loyalty bonus they're due.

As expected the sad sack alliance are out in force again now there's a potentially negative story to latch on to.

Assuming this is true then the lad deserves huge credit for wanting to go and play.

I found it weird there was no fond farewell from him today, just came off the field looking pissed off. Maybe he would have rather been up here sorting his move out than playing for a team who he won't be with for much longer?

yet there are sources in Italy saying he doesn't want to move,
it's choose who you believe
personally will wait until he's on safc.com with the usual pics before I feel confident

This is hilarious. I still can't believe we're profiting on Borini. :D

We paid only £6m more for Lazar Markovic - one of the outstanding, most exciting young footballers in Europe. A lightning fast magician who dribbles with the ball stuck to his foot.

Konoplyanka, another truly gifted, pacy winger filled with technique and flair is going for under £10m.

Borini is £14m? What justification?

I admire his character, but that's all he has. Good personality, excellent work-rate. Those aren't qualities to pay such a fee for.

Piss off and clue up Bindipper.

He's £8.5M rising to a maximum of £14M based on performance. If that £14M is reached he'll be a superstar.

in case anybody hasnt read this

Gus Poyet had this to say about the Borini deal: “What I can say is that we have agreed [a deal] with Liverpool, we are waiting for correspondence and then we move on from there. It’s clear the impact Fabio had last season. And we are going to spend that amount of money on a player that we know how much he can give us. He would be perfect for us. It’s an ongoing thing. We have done the steps that we needed to do properly, and now we are waiting. We want to do things the right way.”

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers said: “He spent a really successful period with Sunderland last year, and it’s obviously a fantastic club. They’ve offered to buy Fabio and that’s where it’s at. There is an agreement between the two clubs, but nothing is agreed with the player as of yet. So at the moment he’s still very much a Liverpool player, but when that changes I’m sure you’ll be among the first to know.”
