Blaming Ellis is a bit Mag-esque

No.

I wouldn't expect an owner to meddle in a business he knows little about.

I'd expect him to appoint people to do the job - and then fire them if they couldn't. Which he did.

If I owned a business and t went down the pan because I employed people who fucked everything up. Whose fault is it?

:lol: f***ing hell, are you seriously claiming this? Granted he’s paid the debt off, but he’s lead us to the worst position the club’s ever been in financially and football wise.
Tbf the first part isn’t true is it. When he took over we had a lot of debt, the final position on him leaving the club is we now don’t.

This.

And where I don't make him blameless, he's never been deserving of half the stuff he's had said about him on here.

We don’t have debt anymore, but we’ve lost major revenue opportunities like the TV deal etc by being relegated to League 1 as a result. If he managed the club better, we could’ve still been in the Premier League now and living within our means, instead of rebuilding from League 1.

The biggest word in football. Where do you think we'd have been without him?

Who knows? Nobody can answer that. I know we’ve been relegated to League One under his tenure though. I’m grateful of his efforts, but it’s came at an expense for him and the club.

In fairness, it probably needed to happen this way.

A year in the Championship and immediate promotion may have just papered over the cracks and we'd still have debt.

That's two of your threads you've now bumped.

Ignoring the pettiness of such behaviour for a second, neither thread reflects well on you.

Am I missing something?

Yes @Pancho

If you could have a read of the absolute abuse I got for both threads - both of which I've been proved correct on - I'd appreciate it.

We got relegated by Coleman in the same cirumstances I predicted.

And yesterday saw the biggest love in for Ellis I've seen since the cup final - despite the massive amounts of abuse I got earlier in the year highlighting the good points of his tenure and daring to suggest his heart was in the right place.

Forgive me for my moment of indulgence, but if you will let people abuse those who hold differing opinions don't get upset if a little gloating goes on.

I do. We'd have gone bankrupt.

No you don’t though, that’s an opinion based on a hypothetical situation, that you haven’t backed up. We could’ve potentially went in to administration under his tenure too. Again, we don’t know that to be true either.

What we do know, is we got relegated to League 1 after back to back relegations and lost revenue streams that would help us be self sustainable.

His terrible decisions over the last 5 years of so are why we are now at the lowest point in the history of the club, why should we be grateful?
