No what did he say?
And that is the right attitude to succeed mate, don’t get embroiled with people on here, everyone has their own opinion, just accept it and don’t take things personally, if you don’t like what someone reply’s laugh it off, the more you bite the more attention you bring on yourself, I am not saying roll over but have a bit more consideration in your reply’s, read them back a couple of times before you hit the post button, you might find you change a few sentence's.
Got to say for the second biggest club in the league the atmosphere was woeful… very quiet all game apart from 30 seconds after each goal!
It’s nerves pal. When the Lane gets going it’s a cauldron. When a team comes at us, even at 2-0 up, our fans are nervy. We’ve been bitten in the arse so many times when we’ve gone 1 or 2 nil up it’s now engrained within us to only get going at 3-0.
We’ve got one of the best atmospheres in the country on our day, plenty have said it.
Apart from a few groups of teenagers from both sides goading each other I seen absolutely no problems outside of the ground, so suspect there's an element of bullshit in the OP. We parked just off London Road, got some food and went to The Golden Lion. Every Blades fan we spoke to was spot on and were expecting a tough game. I have to be honest I was expecting the home support to be a lot more noisy than they were, a lot more noisy. The red was justified and my first thought was it's killed the game, especially after United scored. Again, I thought the early second half goal meant we were going to get thumped as that's how it often pans out with us. However, our grit meant that it was still a great game and was very encouraging. You could feel the nerves from the home fans through the silence. As for us itgoing to be an up and down season. We'll be absolutely fine, but would love a midfielder like Berge who turned out for them last night. I have a lot of time both Sheffield clubs. They tend to have been put to one side because Leeds were once good back in the 70s. The history of both clubs contributes massively to the history of the game in England. United will be up and around the top of the table and I'd be expecting promotion if I supported them with the squad we have. Hopefully we've sent a message out to the rest of the division with our first few games that we aren't an easy 3 points.
Define higher opposition? You may need a shovel here, marra. Whilst the majority of us have been very much humbled by our recent history, I'm sure a lot of people will see this as two of the divisions biggest clubs playing each other and one of the few occasions you'll see your away end full this season.Fair. Like I said, we’re pessimistic bunch, always used to being the underdog and screwing up leads, going ahead doesn’t suit our culture. The Lane is far more raucous when we’re behind chasing games or playing higher opposition. Our atmospheres in the Prem were second to none.
Just a shame this game wasn’t on a Saturday, that might’ve helped.
I've gathered Hetton isn't a lass and doesn't work for the club![]()
Without calling names ,what a strange way to view football,a game of a it and the team you "support "Am I though? First QPR and now S**ff**ld U**ted. Let me put it this way. I feel it’s David v Goliath every time. We cannot keep on playing a team of “prospects” like Alese and Diamond and “inexperienced” Championship players like O’Nien and Pritchard. Because whilst I acknowledge both types within the squad do seem to perform to a degree it’s obviously still not enough to secure wins consistently at this level - we have only won once this season.
I’m simply desperate for us to get a nice little string of wins together. Just one or two. You can all call me all the names under the sun again if you all think it makes you big. Let me tell you this for free!! Nothing in the world you can say can hurt me more than seeing us go another week without a win. I would love nothing more than to see us win a game. in fact I want a win more than survival right now. If you gave me a choice I’d take ONE win over survival every time. And it’s killing me to see us still not good enough to win. I’m starting to feel I don’t know when the next one will be. But if and when it comes you will have nothing to hurt me with. Because I will be so overwhelmed with joy. Then where will you be? What will you do with your lives? Just you wait.
Having a dead dad doesnt give you licence to antagonise away fans im afraid . Ndiaye is gonna be a superstarWould fancy Sheff United to win the league if they had Stewart and/or Simms up front. Good team seemingly waiting on one of their strikers to actually show something, although the Blade lad I know rates that Ndiaye.
I don't know much about Stewart I watched him once or twice last season and thought he looked oreyt then other games he looked bobbar seemed to take 6 chances to score,we know we can't rely on 68 year old Billy Sharp forever but the guy scores goalsWould fancy Sheff United to win the league if they had Stewart and/or Simms up front. Hes young enough to get his finishing top notch if he can he'll definitely play in the premSharp's the Championship version of Jamie Vardy, we're all just waiting for that year he finally is too old after having said it for the last five year
Stewart's finishing is arguably one of the weaker areas of his game (whisper it quietly because someone saying that started a huge argument in one of the pre season match threads) but he still did enough to get 26 in the league and play offs. Just such an intelligent footballer, he seems to do everything fairly well. Looks like a target man but realistically he's better at running the channels, linking play up and finishing with his feet than he is at battering a centre half in the air. We struck gold getting him in when we did given how seemingly every football manager in League One and the Championship openly speak about how they wanted to sign him. Probably says a lot about Stewart that the club and ~90% of our fans were happy to let Wyke go on a free when he got 31 goals the year before he left. Only small gripe with him is how easy he hits the deck.
