Watch out for Madge
Never been but a few of us from work are booking up when this shit blows over. I’m not a snob like so will probably enjoy itFollowing on from a recent comment in a thread "you've obviously never been to Benidorm" I wondered what it is actually like? I know a few on here will have been but is it actually as horrendous as people make out or just a typical rough package holiday place? I know the place gets a bad reputation but is this warranted compared to other places? Once went to Cancun which also has a bad rep and although it was rough it was still a decent laugh the time we were there.
I have to say I was totally underwhelmed with Benalmadena marina. Was surprised at how nice Torremolinos was.
Benalmadena Pueblo is lovely, had some great holidays there. Not for young un’s looking for action obviously but nice and relaxing to chill out.I'm not far from there these days but far enough. About the same distance to Málaga but East rather than West.
I have no reason to go to Benalmadena though.
Aye you’re right it was the Don Pancho, nice hotel. In fairness the restaurants are probably like most resorts, nice if you know where to go or have your card marked but pot luck if you don’t. We were mebbes just unlucky. You just went to all of the wrong places, marra. For a start, you didn't stay at the don pedro, you stayed at the Don Pancho: the former doesn't exist.
There are loads of fantastic places to go for people of "our age group", depending what you're looking for.
I went in 2018 for the 1st time on a stag do, I really enjoyed it. The bars along the sea front are spot on through the day, normally someone playing acoustic at some point in the afternoon. As said, beaches are nice, I had a nice half hour to meself on one of the days, pint, slice of pizza and watched the world go by...aye the strip or whatever it's called had some daft lads about but easy enough to avoid.Never been but a few of us from work are booking up when this shit blows over. Love owt like that man, no doubt the bellends on here who travel the world and only go to restaurants off the beaten track will look down their noses at it. Only a few streets that imho. The rest of its fineOld town is canny new but is like Blackpool with sun, full of chavs looking for English pubs with full English breakfasts John smiths and only fools and horses on the tv.
Awful
Saw Jet Harris live there, spot on.Been coming here 20 years. Other than the odd old timer who is still around, I've not really heard any Tony Christie, except Amarillo, occasionally.
I have a repertoire of over 650 songs, though my speciality is 80's, I guess.
I do an 80's show and a tribute to Vince Clarke so Erasure, Yazoo and Depeche Mode in that, but Dexys, The Jam, ABC, Journey, you name it from the 80's and I probably do it.
I also do a Soul, Motown and Northern Soul show, amongst others so Harold Melvin, Barry White, Frankie Vallie, Archie Bell, Frank Wilson, Edwin Starr etc.
Also do a history of Britpop show: Beatles, Stones, Oasis, Bowie, Fratellis, Madness, Faces etc.
It's a living.
You want to go into Sunderland bars before lock downRe Benidorm, my son went for the first time about three years again on a stag do. Said he was offered drugs every time he went to the bar in just about every bar he went in.
Not good.
He’s been around. Him and about fifteen mates doing long weekenders all over Europe two or three times a year for years. He was surprised at this in Benidorm. You want to go into Sunderland bars before lock down
Allover the place especially marching powder

Nothing better than sitting in Heartbreak on an afternoon with a cold beer listening to some good rock music, my favourite being the AC/DC tribute band.I live here and I'm one of the "failed artists" you mention, but have I really failed?
Prior to the last year, I worked about 12 hours a week and I spent a vast portion of the rest of the time drinking free beer, swimming in my pool and having barbecues or parties with my mates. If that's failure, I'm glad I didn't make it in a 9-5.
Just saying.
Oh, and I've never heard a single act here singing Hey Las Vegas.
You get that at every popular British holiday resort abroad, where young uns go.Re Benidorm, my son went for the first time about three years again on a stag do. Said he was offered drugs every time he went to the bar in just about every bar he went in.
