My old company got took over, they fucked up payroll afterwards and paid everyone twice. Demanded it back obviously, most people did, one lad claimed he'd stuck it all on a horse so he offered to pay back £50 a month
Didn’t happen.
Him putting it on a horse? No I don't think he did either. I think he just kept it.Didn’t happen.
Nothing happens for sure.Nothing ever happens.
I’ve paid the lads too much by mistake on a Friday and they always txt to tell me the same/next day etc.Always tell them to keep it for being honest.
Everytime I’ve been overpaid I’ve always owned up,as I guarantee when the payroll the following week is done or the CIS needs paying to the tax man once a month it’ll be spotted then.Trust will be gone and your card marked for the sake of a couple of quid?Mental to even contemplate it.
Time and a turd.If i'm clamming for a shite when i get up, I always try to bake it till i'm on shift. Even better when you're on O/T.
I de che.Common sense that shouldn’t really need explaining to even a teenager never mind a grown man.Trust gone ,exactly right , Gilly knows his onions.
This kind of happened to me, except I'd underpaid tax. According to advice on here, I should have had the foresight to keep an eye on my earnings and then informed Inland Revenue that I was likely to go over the higher tax threshold. This was a pay increment for good performance that caused the increase, so that will be getting wiped out and then some while pay it back. This just happened to me so I rang up to inform them about it. Bloke on the phone seemed genuinely shocked and praised my honesty. I was a bit surprised by his shocked reaction; surely anyone would come forward about something like this, right?

I once priced a job for £350. The lady gave me £450. I said you’ve give £100 too much but she was adamant I told her £450 and insisted I take it. I cleaned her gutters for free a few weeks later. Karma
I already have, mate. I stated so in the OP.I bet you did.
As per the OP, I would just fess up. It's hardly worth risking your livelihood for a couple of hundred quid.
Is that aimed at me? I stated in my opening post that I rang them the minute I realised.I de che.Common sense that shouldn’t really need explaining to even a teenager never mind a grown man.
