Australia V India

I see Smith has come out and said he 'didn't do enough to stop the sandpaper plan', the implication being it wasn't his plan, but Warner's.

I don't believe for one second their bowlers didn't know about this, but have got away Scot free.

They have barely reversed it since

look at the way they reversed in the ashes at perth on the pitch

Anyone staying up for the Boxing Day Test? Become a tradition for me recently, unless it's us getting hammered down there, didn't bother last year.

SA v Pak starts tomorrow at 8 as well. Generally not interested in using holiday in winter but the festive cricket down under is the one thing that would make me do it.

Looks like a repeat of last year's Boxing Day Test. The shite pitches at Melbourne for their biggest cricketing occasion of the year needs to be treated as a national crisis in Convict Land

True enough. Australian pitches used to be fantastic and very similar year after year:

Brisbane - green top early on, quick, flattens out, take spin later on.

Adelaide - quite flat, good for batting, spin later on

Perth - Hard, fast track as quick as you will get anywhere.

Melbourne - a bit for everyone - good battle between bat and ball.

Sydney - break up on day 3 always 2 or 3 spinners.

Now they are pretty shit with Melbourne being a criminal offense.

There has been some variable bounce and Starc got the new ball to do quite a bit, apparently. No swing, but Melbourne is in the middle of a heat wave (my mate just emigrated out there and has been complaining about the heat - first world problems!). Temperature is going to drop at the weekend and showers on Sunday so you could see the ball do a bit if it lasts that long.

Shaping up nicely, come on India

Seems a test match destined for a draw, disappointing given the first couple

You're not even following it man. The ball did a bit in the India innings, but they batted very patiently. Aussies will be all out for 200-250

How on earth does Mitch Marsh keep getting picked or are they picking him so that they've got some to drop when Smith is available
