To be fair, I haven't noticed anyone on here in particular who's never posted on the cricket threads before, aside from that jaaarow character who just seems to be on a windup.
Not on here too often but whenever I do read cricket threads they always seem to be mainly negative!

I suppose the football board is the same like...

People just don't have the patience or understanding of test cricket it seems. The amount of panic and negativity when the game is only one day old is staggering at times.

The impatience and negativity on here continues to amaze me.

He has been into bat early after openers failed, and therefore is up against the new ball. And he has been on the end of at least one fantastic ball. Yes, his last innings he played a loose shot, but that's not a crime. Lets also not forget he has also been out injured for a decent period of time. The guy is one of the true world class players we have, make no mistake about that.

Anyway, I suspect the time between this test and the next will easily be enough for him to be fit.

He hasn't looked anything like as good as he used to. Is what I said. And he hasn't. At one point he was on par with, if not the best batsman in the world, that hasn't been the case for a while. Then I stated why we wouldn't need him, based on Australia looking so poor.

From the BBC live scorecard page half an hour ago:

GET INVOLVED- #bbccricket

Paul Gibbons: Getting worried, Aussies ahead of the run rate without losing a wicket.

Thomas Stirk: Just stuck 2 quid on Australia chasing this total, softens the blow if England lose.

I consider myself fairly pessimistic as a sports fan but ffs man...

Test Cricket has changed pretty markedly in the 20 years I've been watching it, especially in the past 5 or 6. It isn't as patient a game anymore all round. So while I agree with you that it requires more patience than has been shown by some on here, shorter term predictions seem to fit more in line with the thinking of batsmen who are not as good at building long term innings as they used to be.

Yes the introduction of T20 and the likes have had an impact, but you still get batsmen like Trott for example who will look to bat all day. Regardless though, its embarrassing the way people go on, surely people have watched enough cricket to know that when a team is say 30-3 that it doesn't mean they are going to finished off cheaply, or that if the opposition is cruising at 200 without loss that it doesn't mean the game is lost (wickets tend to fall in clusters).

Class ball Swanny!

If only the Aussies had picked a spinner

Oh my, did he really leave that?

Rodgers are Khawaja won't be Test quality batsmen as long as I have a hole in my arse. Woeful.
