Anyone recommend me a new tv?

I am looking for a 49" 4k smart TV but there are so many out there I just don't know where to start, my head is absolutely done in reading reviews. Got about £800 but would obviously prefer not to spend that much. All I want is a telly with excellent picture quality.

Anyone got any recommendations?

I was looking at this one but it comes with a magic remote (which I have no idea how to use and a few are complaining about it in the reviews) so would prefer one with a normal remote if possible.

great deal

re the remote, if you hate the smart one and don't like the awful tiny 19" portable style tv 2nd remote Samsung k series come with, you can easy get a nice one on ebay that will work it:

Like people have said now is the best time to buy a tv up till about June / July.

As they are getting rid of old stock.

I got a cracking deal on my Sony tv in 2015 as they had excess stock from the previous years World Cup As the box was plastered with World Cup 2014 promos etc.

Cracking screen but only 1080. Will wait till after next years World Cup to change it.

You reckon there'll be widespread price drops at Easter on this TV like?

Prices will keep dropping till they are all gone. Depends on how long you want to risk waiting.

keep a eye on this page, doing £1600 tvs at mo.

like been said it's what price you bite at, but if it selling they won't reduce & gamers like ks7000. rather than pay the £500 for a argos deal I paid more this time & don't regret it

Cheers will do.

It's tempting me but it's whether I'm just wanting some new technology or whether I'll actually use it for 4K stuff. Moving my 46 inch plasma in to the bedroom to replace the old 32 inch humax lcd is another advantage though.

think what you'll use it for & what that will need , bought a argos 4k tv for £500 before ps4 pro, then started seeing what 4k extra things(hdr etc) tv would need for ps4 pro, sold 4k tv for £350 & had £400 for a 4k monitor that ps4 pro would use. so combined the lot & got dfdecent tv.

now there's a new xbox at end of year & that will have something else that i'll have to go & buy another friging tv

I'd use it for playing 4K files now and again, and might get a PS4Pro in future (only got a PS4 now)

What extra thing has the XBox got like?

free sync & next gen hdmi , what ever next gen is. but you can bet my tv will not do it & i'll need another new one. (need to do some research) as it gets closer to launch more details will come out.

Well, until the HDMI 2.1 standard is ratified, there are no living room displays that are VRR-enabled. To see the benefit, you'll need to have a PC monitor - a 4K one preferably, though 1080p screens will work - and it needs to support FreeSync over HDMI. This limits the amount of potential screens as it's more frequently run via DisplayPort, a video output that is not supported by Scorpio. Looking forward, a 4K HDR monitor with FreeSync 2 support really is the best way to ensure optimal results from this feature

I got a 1080p freesync monitor but not 4k

I very much doubt i'll be buying a Scorpio so I'm not particularly bothered about all that like

I'm after a one with a budget of up to £400, want a minimum screen size of 49" and will be hanging it on the wall.

The 5-6 yr guarantee offered by Richer Sounds, Fenwick and John Lewis (I think) looks a no brainer.

Is there anywhere online where i can see the prices of TVs at Fenwicks?

Well, its sold out everywhere (and where it isnt its going for over a grand). Looks like I've missed it. Any idea what the next best TV is for 55 inch roughly? Is there not a better model in the KS range?

I like the look of LG UH850V: Dolby Vision and HDR10 in an affordable package,
