At 6 million a year emery wasn't exactly cheap and he'd probably need sacking at some point so I dunno

Firefighter seems like an odd phrasing over going from Lg2 to PL - that seems more like a long term thing.

I'd have thought someone like Sam going in and stopping relegations being called a firefighter was more appropriate

I’m sure I read that one reason UE turned them down was because he thought Villareal had given the mags permission to speak to him. When he found out they hadn’t he then considered the further implications….

Aye. Apart from well under two years at Burnley he’s nivver lived north of Amersham ferchrissakes. People from there wear hats n gloves when they gan to Luton Airport to fly away on their summer holidays.
Unfortunately I dragged deceased Hollywood leading man Jimmy Frizzel into a similar post upthread. Apologies to his family. It’s a little known fact that Sean Connery owes his entire career down to JF turning down the Bond role to stick at the football.
