Cancelled all second interviews with other candidates because they were so confident of appointing Emery and, any manager knows they might be sacked if they don’t stay up. Who is going to take it under those circumstances 🤔😀

The first signs of them not having any knowledge of running a football club. When Man City were bought they had a cracking foundation to work from and the previous owners had been pretty wealthy themselves. They still had to build thoufh rather than just go out and get the brst available. I've already seen comments from Mags that shows they haven't got the patience for that.
A sack clause if relegated? Jesus
What are these clowns doing?
That suggests they won't be prepared to sustain the losses. We never put pay cut clauses in players contracts when we were a Premier league club and that was plain stupid.

Another day, another

A mag has joined our team recently, known him for years. Anyway, talking to him yesterday and he told me about Eddie Howe and I started laughing

"Ow man, its only til the end of the season, then we'll get a big name in"

"A big name to manage you in the championship like?"

"F*** off"

This is the arrogance I have often referred to. Howe should tell them to feck off if that is their thinking. Uprooting himself and his family for that level of disrespect.
I don't think it matters who is appointed, we'll be well adrift by January. Even if we can get the players in they won't gel fast enough to save us. Providing Sunderland keep their end of the bargain we'll be playing each other in the championship next season. We're doing our part, let's hope you fellas can get back on track and do yours.

It's more likely we will wait down in L1 for you to join us :)

Oh dear their Saudi overlords will not be liking this. Their little sportswashing venture isn’t going well at all Negative publicity, 6 points adrift, plastic fyass flapping around like a fish out of water, knocked back by managers, cretinous fans dancing around in Arab garb like a pg tips chimp with a brain injury.
They must be thinking we should have stuck to Disney shares :)

I wonder how the top teams around Europe have taken the news of this takeover? I can’t see them being particularly happy the Saudi state and their unlimited pot of cash are now in the mix. I’d like to think they’re having an influence on this lack of activity. Potential managers warned they won’t be sold any decent players etc. I’d be very surprised if they just lie back and have their tummies tickled.
I hope you are right but money talks unfortunately. If you are offered over the odds for a player it is going to be tempting to accept it.

Remember though we are all just as bad as them if we ever bought a coffee or got the lion king on VHS :lol::lol:

Does a sack clause if relegated just mean he’s sacked (presumably with a low pay off) if relegated?

Seems daft to go for Howe then, who is a good championship manager.
Seems daft going for anyone. Why pay so much committing to Emery, if you’re going pay just as much to sack him in six months - after giving him however much to spunk in January

Looks like he’s your only option now.
The issue is when he wants to sign a player what is the model to follow.
A young player in a long contract, an older more experienced player who will have zero intention of moving on.
Whoever comes in will naturally want to implement there own choices.
Once Amanda gets out of her own arse and decides she wants a DOF they will decide the direction the club must head, not Eddie or whoever gets appointed.
Would you not prefer Nuno if he wanted it?
I'm not sure Howe is our only option. We have spoken to Fonseca and Favre etc too. I'd prefer Howe over Nuno to be honest.

We do desperately need a DoF.
Of course  It’s like trying it on with 5 fit lasses being knocked back by them all and ending up with the munter and saying ‘you were the one I fancied anyway’
That munter is still a better Shag than my ex Steve Bruce.

I'd quite like Eddie Howe 🤷🏻
Tbh I think he would be a good choice. He did well for a while in the PL and let's be honest not many managers get to stick around for all that long anyway. He'll organise you lot, bag the necessary players in January to steady the ship and keep you up.

Not the champagne manager that the mags are craving, but they have to realise having money doesn't just flick the switch to attract the best, the club has to get it's shit together first and start looking like a serious project.

But we can still laugh at carry on football manager first before the serious shit comes

Will he organise them? In every season he’s managed in the premier league, his Bournemouth side conceded at least 60 goals.
