Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Another important thing to factor in when trying to buy a player is that the selling club will always look at the buying club’s situation when deciding on a sale. Because we don’t have even a single serviceable striker, all selling teams will basically have us marked down as “absolutely desperate - hold out for maximum price possible”.
Which is why the buying club has to wait until the last day of the transfer window, unfortunately.

I must have slept through those games that Rigg was anonymous in last season. Whenever I saw him play he was active, getting stuck in and trying to make things happen.
Milwall at home, Watford away, Sheff Wed at home in particular Rigg struggled. I'm not criticsing him for it, you expect young players to struggle sometimes but people are very selective which young players they do criticise, imo.

Like I’ve said we had one bad shit season last year, they should be allowed to rectify it this summer window that still has a whole month left.

If they don’t do the job then I’m all for them being replaced as it’s inexcusable. But they’ve still got a whole month for me like. While in the championship they had

Summer window 22/23 - Good

Jan Window 22/23 - Good (if Stewart didn’t get injured)

Summer Window 23/24 - Naff

Jan window 23/24 - extra naff

Summer Window 24/25 - Needs more but two canny signings through the door

If they fail to get the striker we need in then that’s 3-2 for the shite windows and I’ll be agreeing with you all

Just think they deserve the chance to rectify it
Sorry. Please explain how the Jan 22/23 transfer window was good ?

We brought in Ekwah, okay I accept he was a decent signing. But we also bought, Lihadji, Joe Anderson and got Gelhardt on loan as well as losing Simms back to Everton. I certainly wouldn’t describe that as a Good “window”.

During those windows maybe we should list the players brought in so we can see the number of duds vs decent

Gelhardt was brought in to compliment Stewart until he got injured and we brought in Ekwah who had a good impact near the end of the season. You don't need to sign 5+ players for a window to be good - we didn't need many additions at all at the time

Don't forget we also lost Evans to injury and still haven't signed a dcm, Mowbray again was completely ignored in that window when he stated we needed replacements .

ah not this fkn argument again haha, it's clear nee fucker agrees so we will leave it there. But in my personal opinion if we fail to bring in the striker we need this window it's time for us to replace Speakman IMO. That's where I will leave that

He was annoymous in plenty of games Watford I think of straight away.

Not to say the lads not a prospect but his current ability is over blown on here.

People have a right to me upset we don't have a striker yet but most business is done towards the end of a window. Is it ideal we don't have a striker before the season starts of course it isn't. But people need to put there pitchforks down till after the window closes the you'll have as much time as you like to complain

I said above that Ekwah was a decent signing. The rest weren’t and didn’t give us what we needed. Therefore I would not describe it as Good. You obviously have different standards.

That ship has sailed, he needs replacing regardless, has shown himself to be completely incompetent.

It's not an argument is it's a fact that Mowbray was ignored and we are still waiting to sign a dcm. You come across as blinkered , that the club and Speakman are doing a cracking job whilst ignoring the evidence that is right in front of you.

if you had read my posts you would have seen that I have not for one second said they are doing a cracking job, I said they have had good and bad windows and deserve one more chance to rectify it which they still have time to do

It’s the fact we haven’t had a striker since Stewart got injured. Thats not just this window. It’s the failure to resolve the situation over the last 3 windows that is the issue. There appears to be no planning whatsoever. Or if there is, it has failed miserably every window since Stewart got injured. And to start another season with no striker is just unacceptable.

Where does Dave Jones come into this? What’s his role at the club like
He’s non executive director. He has a voice in the boardroom. Disco pants posted yesterday how he was involved in the decision not to get Keane and get Alex Neil instead. And my point is he suggested Michael Beale and pushed internally to get him which led to the interview etc and then getting the job.
