Aiden Mcgeady

Loved Mcgeady me like. Didn't get the send off maybe his loyalty showed. Could have easily jumped ship few seasons ago.
Absolutely this. There's been a lot of low moments associated with the club over the last 6 years, but the unsubstantiated rumours about why a decent servant like McGeady had been ostracised and then the fact that they were allowed to go unchallenged by those who could have corrected them was one of the worst.

Endlessly left his full back exposed to 2 on 1 and forever trying to beat his full back 3 or 4 times before putting a cross in. Johnson tells him to stop f***ing about and beat the full back once and Charlie Wyke suddenly scores a boat load of goals. Can't deny he's probably the best player we've had over the last 5 years but an absolute liability tactically wise.

Alright Phil Parkinson

Unlucky to be injured at just the wrong time and Wyke should pay him a percentage of the pay rise he must have got last season. Showed standards ( albeit possibly not always in the right way), played carrying injury and still had great skills. Hope he does well whatever the long term future holds for him.

There seems to be a lot of people on here who, because of sentimentality, think McGeady should have been given the last few minutes if the playoff Wembley game. Balderdash! You could say the same about Defoe or any other servant to the Club. It’s a results driven business and the team and the result are the most important outcome. The manager picks a team to win a game of football. Thankfully, that’s what Alex Neil did and we’ve been celebrating promotion on the back of that single mindedness. ever since. I wonder what would those same people say, had we made a substitution of Jack Clarke which prevented him going up the wing and making a wonderful cross for a goal? We’ve scored enough goals in the vital last few minutes of games this season to be aware of the need to see the games out professionally and not change for the sake of sentimentality.

I think him being on the bench at all was probably a bit of a stretch. Of course it would have been nice to be five up ( and we really could have been) and to give him a couple of minutes but no room for sentimental decisions in such an important game with only a two goal cushion.
