Academy manager vacancy on website

If we are having to put open vacancies on the club website for a pretty important role then it doesn't hold much hope for how little in the way of connections the people running the club has in football. You would think that we would have had somebody lined up for this position before Paul Reid got sacked/paid off/left of his own accord...what are the chances of an aspiring Academy Manager looking up safc.com in the search for a job? is it posted on indeed or any jobsite search engines?

Unless the job has been circulated in the football community and no-one wants it
It seems they have to advertise, as part of the EPPP rules.
Doesn't mean they don’t have someone lined up anyway I guess...

Bain’s best marra! Club wheel him out to deflect criticism as they know he’s popular with the majority of the fan base. Is in an absolute comfort zone.

Has been ‘used’. Is also in line for DOF role under current regime.
I couldn't have put it better myself and thats part of what I'm saying..

Embarrassing. Reid’s gone without anyone being lined up. At a time when the academy badly needs direction there won’t be anyone at the helm for a while yet. Advertising it on the club website is the pits too, just shows how little effort they’re putting in #DonaldOut

Why would you not have a replacement lined up?

They will have, but you’re not allowed to be seen to be doing that now, you’re recruitment as to be seen as transparent, so you’re seen to be interviewing, a woman, a person of colour (a few different shades), a geezer who’s had his tackle took off, a woman who’s had some tackle added, a bird who’s got a wife, a bloke with a husband, and a couple of southern bastards.

Should be 100's applying from here unless there waiting for the CEO gig....

I was going to until I saw it needed : previous experience of management within the Eastleigh environment

(It actually says previous experience of management within the elite sports environment - but I presume that is a typo/autocorrect)

We should be headhunting the best person possible, not advertising the job on the f***ing website. Embarrassingly small time.

I think You have to advertise coaching jobs now, and go through the process of interviewing people, even if you already have someone lined up, so you’re seen to be adhering to the governing bodies pledge to get more people from different cultures and genders coaching at elite level. Not that it makes a bit of difference it’s just box ticking.

the rules of whoever judges acacemies to be catgory one require t o be advertosed. people on here touch themselves moist about a cat one academy then whine when the rules are followed to stay cat one.

I might apply. Like our current manager I played a major role in helping Colchester survive in the championship

I never used to believe people made a load of money in life by just 'being lucky'.. Now I know Stewart Donald blows that out of the water

To be honest, a fat lot of good connections have done us in the past from coaches, to players and managers. Advertising is the fairest way and might throw up so me brilliantvyounger coaches who, hitherto, might well have not been considered.

come clean about what marra?

Your reasons/motivstions for being here, no interest in any subject bar the obsession on setup/finances of safc, very touchy on that too occasionally, swaying between fine posts and illegible ones, contradicting your story regularly and throwing in northern terms like ‘marra’. You’d have a lot more credibility if you just admitted your agenda and moved forward as us northerners may be thick but we dont believe anyone would have such an obsession with all off field matters at a club with few links to.
