I reckon all clubs and all players will be compelled to do this. We are now living in a world where we are told how we have to think, people are not able to voice alternative opinions - which is a real shame.

Which players or clubs wouldn’t want to kneel for equality? I would.

Maybe people just wanted to watch a football game and not a political movement.

Kaepernik taking a knee was a geninely subversive act that has cost him a good chunk of his career, and there's been huge hostility directed at him from some of the most powerful people in the US as a result.

Seeing everyone from Starmer to Trudeau to every player in the league doing it devalues it imo. Actually quite insulting to see politicians doing this. Have any of them, Starmer or Trudeau included, got any concrete proposals on how to tackle structural issues around racism and policing?

Its seems to be how we deal with everything nowadays though. I saw the PM turn Downing Street 'Green for Grenfell' the other day. But the government has had 3 years to get all the cladding taken off tower blocks and still hasn't done it. An empty gesture is far easier.

We've had 'clap for carers', 'clap for our NHS workers', NHS signs plastered everywhere. Any serious proposals to put some money into it or give the workers a pay rise?

Priti Patel, the actual Home Secretary, launched a badge to 'raise awareness' of Domestic Violence. She's the Home Secretary - should she not do something about it, as well as making people aware of it?

Are the Premier League actually going to do anything to get more black coaches and managers in the game? What are they actually going to do to deal with racism?

Got no issue with individuals doing things like this, but when powerful organisations do this stuff, then don't accompany it with any action, it just becomes meaningless imo.

If people want to take a knee, do a starjump, hop a bit etc for whatever reason etc then we live in a free country and do what you want but don't imply that people who have no reason to look a tit and display their 'virtuosness' are racist. I've noticed people only take the knee in public I wonder why🤔
