7 games left. How do we use them?

Win as many as possible, it's as simple as that.

We won't be drastically changing style of play next season. The things we do change will be due to new personnel.

Steal a European spot and we've got a chance of getting more of those players we want.

Try something new and lose 5 of the last 7 and it sets the tone for an ominous start to next season.

You're talking about tactics as if they're some ethereal mystery where the only way to find out if they're going to work is to fling your poop at a dartboard to see what sticks.

The club knows where our weaknesses lie and will undoubtedly attempt to address them in the transfer window.

And as a side note, we're using different tactics all the time. Sometimes 4 or 5 distinct tactics in the same match. What exactly do you think we're not already doing that you think we should be "experimenting with"?
This is what people need to understand. Like most teams, we have a basic framework that we play from and make changes depending on who we're playing. If it's not working during the game then it's up to the manager to change it at half time or whenever.

Slightly less cautious, let people play in thier proper positions as if its next season and we're moving onwards and upwards.
Rather than trying to scrape points - we know we can do that. Next step is to play our game.

We are 3 points off a Conference league place with 21 points still to play for. Of course we have a chance.

It would take an incredible effort from here, but we've certainly got winnable games to come. If anyone in the hunt could get 2 points a game for the run in i think it could be enough. I think Everton might get that last spot personally but we're certainly not out of it yet
Fuck the conference league.

Win.

Finish strongly and build momentum into the summer

Finish 9th (say) and we’re all dead optimistic and the place is flying. Finish 16th, and despite staying up it feels like a damp squib.
I see you have little faith in Regis Le Bris.
Is a one pony trick in your opinion?

Sack them off I reckon, we're safe so why bother trying at this point? If we forfeit the games then the players could get extra rest for next season as well.

I take it the OP in his brain fart has determined this is what we should to, and he's not actually interested in discussing it otherwise.

He's wrong of course.
That's very democratic of you. You're obviously a fan of determinism.

I might even be right to a certain extent.
The world isn't just black and white as the simpletons imagine.
