Australia other than smith have a better batting average.
Our openers have a better average.
Our middle order have scored a bit better
Keepers have been similar both playing st least one important innings.
Bowlers 2 of our bowlers have matched theirs (proves how much we miss Anderson)
And then you have Smith well that’s the two reasons I posted earlier. And they look to be the game changers.

But what it’s and buts Australia have took catches and chances better.
Obviously I mean England have a better batting average I did change it.

Spot on Cooky

I love watching Test cricket, course I am disappointed we are losing the Ashes, but too many people with a football mentally watching test cricket.

People get so angry, not sure how they manage to get through 5 days without exploding.

Everyone has their view on tactics, bowling changes, selection etc, but as you say its about a batsman v a bowler from 22 yards, if someone gets a good nut, it often has very little to do with the rest.

The reaction to every wicket is so over the top, "spineless", "weak", "bottled it" etc, 90mph ball that nips away and hits the top of off stump first ball, good look hitting that whoever you are

Australia have the best attack in the world, and a player who has dominating a series like no other player I have ever seen, thats cricket, take it on the chin.
Totally agree mate. Getting bowled out for 67 and playing like idiots was mentally weak. Getting an unplayable ball like that off the number 1 ranked test bowler in the world is certainly not embarrassing or mentally weak.

He hasn’t had a cool head all series mate, you can see him panic with his choices.

Losing Anderson is a huge blow.

Having untested players in the wrong position hasn’t helped either.

Like I’ve said roots a nice guy but struggles a bit he tries but struggles.

Our next coach needs to be someone who understands first class cricket very well maybe someone who’s been in the county scene for a while.

I was talking about the ball he got out too.

Can’t criticise Root for getting out today. His general captaincy is open to plenty of criticism though.

How deep is Ben Stokes’ Well? We need it tomorrow badly.

England were 9 down before tea at Headingly and they wont be chasing this target and so will have to bat 30+ overs longer

With their two best batsman of the first innings Burns and Root already gone overnight, it will some save, the tailenders will have to do some work as well.

A lot depends on Lyon, if he bowls the rubbish he bowled in the first innings, they might do it, but if Lyon of Edgbaston turns up and backs up the pace attack. Good night.
