3rd test - Headingley

We all get the exciting and expansive cricket but it has to be coupled with common sense and game management...Australia won 2 tests by our over thinking and being too clever..this Australia team are good but they have flaws and as we've seen today beatable...this result today could be massive psychological shift for England...but you have to take your chances when they are presented.
Literally nothing different about how England played all 3 tests mind. Had England lost there'd be no mention of anything being any different.

Wood was the difference that had us win this one.

If we'd lost then the same reasons we lost the other 2 were all in play.

Australia's top order are on paper substantially better than they thankfully have been. Usman aside they've been pretty ordinary.

Aye. There's a few seem to forgot how massive yesterdays session was.
True, but those saying it’s always worked for us this series have also forgotten what there was of day three at Edgbaston which certainly shifted the momentum of that game.

They’ve just chased 250+ successfully for the fifth time out of six, scoring at over 5s, even if they did shred our nerves a bit in the process. Like this one, all but one of those other chases were at at least four and a half, making this England team responsible for more then 50% of all such chases in test history *.

Just 24 months ago the England of old declined to chase 270 at well under 4s because “the most important thing is not to lose”. Boring us all rigid in the process. Who can really say they prefer that?

* Edit - this was an AZ on TMS to give credit where it’s due. Seven 250+ chases at over four and a half ever, four by this recent incarnation of England.

Oh without a doubt. But like all great teams evolution is part of the process.

If the evolution had been a bit faster we'd be 3-0 up going for our first ever whitewash in a 5 match series.

Highlights on BBC2 at 7pm for those that missed / want to watch again.
Before the series I predicted every Test would be close with Australia winning them all and the series ending 5-0.

So far, so good...
