it takes ages to clear the pitch the amount of rain that has fallen, not as simple as its stopped raining lets play

Except it is, because the areas of concern are in the deep. England will be surrounding the bat, pushing for a win.

Common sense suggests those areas aren’t ‘dangerous’ which is the only thing that the laws of the game relates to with regard wet conditions. Athers explained it during the last Test, a wet ball and a wet playing surface aren’t enough on their own to halt or prevent play.

I stand by my point that common sense has been overlooked throughout this series and it’s hugely detrimental to the game of cricket.

If this was a T20 or ODI they’d be playing already.
