3 departures

seems mental that, especially whitfield who has tons for England U19's hope its not a step away from "homegrown" which has been the clubs identity for many years

I'd heard as far back as June that Crawshaw was unlikely to be retained. Gutted for the lad but even at club level he was struggling to score runs. Not sure what was going wrong.

Crawshaw comfortably the best red ball batter in the second team this year. Averaging close to 40 with 2 hundreds. A real lack of cricket in the second team this season, hope it can be righted next year. I would love North to be questioned about it, all to do with lack of funding

Wouldn’t be surprised at all of these 3 lads are resigned by another county come April. 3 very talented lads who just didn’t get a break at Durham. Whitfield the strangest of the 3 outgoings with England u19 hundreds to his name.

The assumption from everyone on the thread is that we've chosen not to offer them a new deal.

They could have been offered a new deal, but have better offers elsewhere?

My memory is not so good. I remember him getting a century v Yorkshire at Scarborough in July but I can't recall the other one. Can you advise please?

It’s much harder to criticise DCCC than it was a year ago given the brilliant Div 2 win but it still feels as if it’s drifting a little bit from the ethos of it being a club for local lads (Potts aside, most of them are older now).

They still have to perform when given a chance. This is how the current crop of Academy lads fared this season across the 3 comps.

People can judge the stats themselves.
