I wonder if South Africa are over-thinking this? No Jansen and choosing to bat seems a bit odd.
That’s true, but it’s a gamble, nonetheless. If you pick 2 spinners you’re kind off have to bat first
That ball had a big mental impact on burns so don't think anyone could disagree about him being dropped, but I think he's worth another goTechnique aside, imo Burns can't come back for the simple reason of getting bowled first ball round his legs in the Ashes, and then giving up facing first to a guy who had played about 5 tests. Loser mentality. Sibley is probably the best we have and is at least half capable of seeing off the new ball, even if he scores at a snail's pace
Stokes needs to sort this out ASAP. Very poor imo.Lost the bastard toss again.![]()

Not watching or listening to the game but I can imagine the Karate Kid's in the huff about not opening the bowling with the 40 yr old.Whats on the menu for day one of a Manchester testVery tight start. Few plays and misses. Robinson and the Lancashire bowler, whose name, I dare not say , bowling

I like the control that Robinson brings as an opening bowler. Broad is great, of course, but he’s prone to bowling leg side rubbish early on.Very tight start. Few plays and misses. Robinson and the Lancashire bowler, whose name, I dare not say , bowling
Agreed. He will get something in these conditions after these two have bowled for an hour or soI like the control that Robinson brings as an opening bowler. Broad is great, of course, but he’s prone to bowling leg side rubbish early on.
